Just shows republicans dont really care about the issue they are always crying about,"jobs". Even when the ideas are their own they will oppose them in the fear that an economic recovery would hurt them at the polls. Very patriotic

Why should Congress make a comment after Mr. Prez. brings hell fire and brimstone down on them. And you can almost make book on it; after all they are a party of No's and are the barbarians at the gate. He will probably have to call in his army of Union officals to take care of the those in his way of destroying the U S A. You can only kick the sleeping giant so long without it waking up and swating the annoying pest. May Mr. Prez. get his wish and see what true loving Americans have. My advise to the great one is to be careful what you ask for.

I voted 'Inappropriate' primarily because it was the closest acceptable answer for me. If 'A bad decision' was an option I would have chosen that one because the opposition should always respond when they disagree with something Obama's going to say, and most likely, Obama is going to say or propose something they don't like, perhaps even a bomb shell and there's not going to be a direct rebuttal right after that?!? Even if it's minimal somebody should do a rebuttal. Pretty darn weird, there, Boehner.

Do you think there will actually be a proposal? I mean in the proper sense of the word. Or will this just be more blather with nothing to wrap your arms around -- you know, lots of generalities and free-floating abstractions that have no foundation in reality, tossed together with the usual boilerplate and demagoguery?

That's what I think, anyway. There's no there, there.

    Pelooser demands an appearance?
How about this: "Tonight's kickoff is proudly brought to you by the sensible Americans of the Republican Party. Enjoy the game!"

It might have been nice to have Paul Ryan respond, but all in all I think it's an awesome move. Obama isn't making a proposal that he actually thinks will work, let alone get implemented. He's making it so he can accuse the Republicans of being "obstructionist". This takes that attack away, while attacking Obama more harshly than any response would.

After all, what's more harsh than "your comments are too worthless to bother responding to"?

I am LMAO over this. Obama is so pathetic that the GOP doesn't even need to bother pointing it out to anyone -- everyone already knows.

This would seem to follow the rule -- "when your opponent is destroying himself, get out of the way and let him". You want a joint session of congress to spew your nonsense about jobs after spending 2 1/2 years doing everything possible to kill the job market, Sport? Go nuts. We'll be home, drinking a Guinness and watching the Saints-Packers game.

    See you next November.
