I'm not sure that 4.5 million is necessary to get the child prosthetics that he will need, but that kind of obvious deformity should have been detected on ultrasound. I also hope this child never reads about this and hears his parents claims they would have aborted him (at 18+ weeks gestation) had they known he was going to be born with a deformity that is totally compatible with life.
