I would fire the the Dumb ass coach in a New Your Minute for not playing Tim Tebow. With the way the season is going with this coach he will be out soon and the sooner the better.

How did this guy ever get to be Head Coach ?

Kyle Orton is a good QB don't get me wrong. However he is very limited because when the pressure is on he cant pull through. As im sure most of you recognize the game against Oakland almost every time Orton was sacked, Tebow would have been outta there running down field to get a first down. Tebow recognizes what has to be done and he gets it done. I dont care if you think he throws weird or that turns to the run too quickly. Maybe his throw works for him, ( which it obviously did in college), and maybe he just has really good instinct. When he steps on the field he doesnt just play for himself. He plays for his team, he plays for his coaches, and most importantly he plays for his fans. The Denver Broncos after finishing a season worst 4-12, with the worst and almost oldest defense is in a rebuilding mode. Why would you not rebuild with someone who needs to build himself as well. It only makes sense. Kyle Orton is the band-aid. Tim Tebow is the healing sore and eventually the skin that brings everything back togethe. GO BRONCOS!!!!

This is the facts..Tim Tebow is a leader..point blank period..he has the heart to take a team to the promiseland..the more Tebow gets in games the more comfortable he will be and get better..i know it...the denver fans know it...just why dont the coaches know it? Denver fans would rather see Tebow fail then a mediocre Orton cause they know he brings excitement and he will just get better with time.

...that should be "leadership and HEART"...

  • Colorado22 - 13 years ago

Stop Belly-Aching and Build A Solid Team With Tebow. I cannot believe that anyone who watched Tebow play at Florida and who has seen his standout leadership and hear still says he can't play in the NFL. Horse hockey. The Broncos will never win a championship with Orton...it just isn't in him...if he is so good why were they trying to trade him as soon as the no-play ban was lifted? The Broncos leadership should be looking at long-term gains...focusing on honing Tebow's strengths and teaching him NFL skills...just chalking up 2011 as a building exercise and coming back strong in 2012.

irishgirl, sorry, you don't know what you're talking about. tebow works harder than anyone, and wasn't just 'peddling his book' as you say during lockout. he was working out and preparing more than anyone. he doesn't just 'sit on his laurels'. you should watch the special on him. that's what he does 6-7 days/week. he takes nothing for granted, and didn't 'assume' he had the position. learn a little more about him before passing judgement. he's a very humble, down-to-earth, hardworking individual that gives it his all all the time.

  • Raggins - 13 years ago

Let Orton play Cin and Ten. If he loses one of those let Tebow play against Green Bay and SD and see what he can do. If he can beat them, let him play.

  • Tom - 13 years ago

As Bill Simmons said, the Broncs are an 8-8 team with Orton or Tebow, so why not give Tebow a try? Also, the John Fox hire will turn ugly quickly.

  • Duke - 13 years ago

Why not at least use him in some small way like they did his first year at Florida. He is a touchdown machine!!! We're having trouble scoring touchdowns and we have one of the best redzone players ever ON THE BENCH???? What about 3rd and 1 or 3rd and goal. Put them both in there? Cam newton put up over 400 yards of offense and ran all over the place!

Tebow is a Sparkplug with a winning attitude!

  • javier - 13 years ago

Has anyone thought on Elway's EGO???

  • JDH - 13 years ago

dont be dumb like my team is, put in your best option now and let him grow, otherwise next thing you know he will be traded just like Quinn who never really got a chance. Well sorry Quinn, and Orton but Tebow is the best choice. Never understood why they ever got Orton?

  • Gator girl - 13 years ago

Of course Tim Tebow should be the starter!! Have you not seen him play? John Elway is just afraid Tebow WILL break all of Elway's records. You can't keep him on the bench forever -- use him or lose him -- and it will be someone else's gain!!!!!
ps. Didn't u see Orton in Chicago? I can throw farther and I'm a girl !
TEBOW TEBOW. TEBOW. TEBOW. TEBOW. TEBOW

  • ladyirish1957 - 13 years ago

Put Tebow in. See what happens. Then the problem will be resolved once and for all. If he's not in the Bronco's future, cut him loose. Either way, Tebow will be a distraction no matter where he goes. This situation is not fair to the other players on the team. Perhaps, Tebow should have taken a lesson from Quinn during the lockout. He went and worked on his game. Tebow on the other hand went out and peddled his book and made underwear commercials. The arrogance of him to think that he had the starting position in the bag. Doesn't his God teach him humility? Or does his religion teach him entitlement?

  • Claire - 13 years ago

Compare last season's game v. Oakland to last night. Tebow did much better than Orton. Sometimes you have to start with a new QB to truly change the spirit and attitude of the team, to make each player believe in himself as well as in the team. And with the first game, that sets the tone for the season ... the fans need that as well. The Broncos need a 'gamer', and that is Tebow. Cam Newton was able to shine because his team allowed him to start. Tebow should have the same chance this year.

  • Dean - 13 years ago

Orton has not been truly productive in 2 seasons. Great stats for fantasy football,
no good stats to win games, especially at crunch time.
He's too willing to throw to short slant which is always to short for 1st down or touchdown.
I personally feel that he runs off the field on 3rd down better than anyone in the league,
maybe the fastest too for 3rd down failures.
He has yet to put his body on the line for the team. Tebow has done it.
On the wildcat play, Orton is a bystander as wide reciever and watches the game.
Bronco nation needs someone willing to lay it on the line, if you loss, then we know you tried.
Kyle Orton, just keep running off the field.

  • Dan - 13 years ago

Tebow knows how to finish it in the Red Zone. So far Orton just hasn't done it. Win or lose it would be a lot more exciting football watching Tebow.

  • Connie - 13 years ago

Tim Tebow should be given a chance. He is inspiring, electrifying, down to earth exciting just like last year in his initial starting role against the Texans. They came from behind to win. He has that "it" factor. He should be given a chance. I am disappointed in Elway and Fox. Tebow is staying positive and that is one cool of a guy! Go Tebow! I know it would happen sooner or later. Tebow is a winner.

  • TOM - 13 years ago

Tiebow is a proven winner and I think the Broncos should let him prove to the organization he belongs . If not trade him. Otherwise a very good team player and leader will create a divided locker room which never works...Just to be clear Tiebow isn't the problem..The lack of the Bronco (mis) management of the situation is..Let him play..He's fun to watch and he makes positive things happen

  • Lee - 13 years ago

Tebow is adaptive. No qestion that he was able to adapt to College level play and quickly became a winning QB at that level. He broke many records and received many awards not because he was a nice guy(though he is), but because he was a proven campion QB. So what if his throws in practice dont look as clean as Orton. The qualities that carry a person from Loser to Winner are much more than clean throws in practice. This is true in many areas of life. Tebow has that magic something (call it sparks of Genius perhaps) that gives him the ability to make split second decisions on the field during the game that over the course of the game perculate to the top as the winner. He "finds" a way to move the ball down the field and scores more than the others. Give him a season and let's all find out one way or the other. AFTER ALL, TO THE OWNERS... ISNT IT ABOUT THE MONEY? its a business! Play Tebow and watch the TV Ratings and Ticket Purchases and franchise merchandise SELL SELL SELL!!!! Win or lose on the field, Tebow is a FAN Favorite!!!

  • Paladon - 13 years ago

If it were two rookies vying for the number one QB spot - one being Elway and the other
being Tebow - I would vote for Tebow. Orton is a Mediocre QB at best - he will never be a winner. He can't run and has no real instinct for the game, but he sits in the pocket just the way
Fox wants him to. There are some real politics going on here and Fox is one of the instigaters.
I have a good suggestion, lets make Fox the 3rd string coach.

  • Julie - 13 years ago

I agree with the majority of comments here. I don't have anything against Orton personally. He's a 'good' quarterback. However, saying that, he doesn't 'inspire' energy, passion, determination, etc., and doesn't have the 'spark' it takes to move them onward and upward. I have nothing against Quinn, BUT I believe Tebow is the way to go. Not only does he have the Talent, determination, passion and belief, he has the 'it' factor if only GIVEN THE CHANCE. We don't expect him to be the 'savior' for this season, though he'd give all for his part. But, we do see him growing and helping to develop this team over the next few years. He will make things happen, he will make mistakes. But, how can he gain the experience of the NFL if he isn't given the chance? Nobody works harder, or I believe, wants it more. This team needs a CHANGE, and Orton doesn't instill that. It's 'stagnant' right now. Tebow will make things happen, and his talent's well-rounded. Adds a spark like Elway did. Let him throw the ball, run, take chances. It's the only way he'll grow and benefit the team. I'd hate to lose such a great talent and future star of the NFL, and the sooner the better.

  • Cym - 13 years ago

Tebow needs to be given a chance. He is a proven winner and gives more than 100%. He will make plenty of mistakes, but give him playing time so he can learn and be the great QB many believe he will become.

  • Tom - 13 years ago

I voted for Tim Tebow because I think he needs an opportunity and Kyle Orton just does not win games. He may throw for a lot of yards, if the line can give him enough time, but he doesn't make anything special happen...he doesn't win. I would at least like to give Tim Tebow about 3 years to see if he, in his 3rd year, could lead this team to a championship. Unfortunately I don't think Elway likes him that much..Elway, for some crazy reason I cannot think of, thinks you have to be a pocket passer to win a championship. What! Elway was his best out of the pocket. Marino? Ya great pocket passer, maybe the best all time, but if I remember right, he won exactly zero championships. Oh well, lucky we don't make decisions!

  • CT - 13 years ago

it's funny...tebow outperformed both orton and quinn come game time (in preseason), but all decisions on roster spots were based only on practice. to quote iverson, "you wanna talk about practice?" last i checked, performing well in practice does not equal performing well in games. i'd take tebow over the other two any day!

  • John - 13 years ago

Nobody says Tebow needs to save the Broncos. All the fans want is a QB with a winning attitude who will not fall apart at critical points in the game as Orton has done time and again. Is that too much to ask for?

  • Sue Townsend - 13 years ago

    1. I think Tim Tebow is an excellent QB/team leader.
    2. I think it is reasonable to say that he needs more playing time.
    3. I think it is unreasonable to believe he can single-handedly "save" the Denver Broncos (as well-stated by comment made from Cindy)
    Thanks.

  • Ben - 13 years ago

I voted Tebow because nothing changes with Orton. He is as predictable to the fans as he is to the opposing defense. Yes, he is an accurate passer but he rarely moves the ball past the line of scrimmage and forget the redzone. He plays for his check not for love of the game.

Tebow has passion if the game in him and he's willing to take risks Orton would never take. He'll take a beating but he'll be back for more. He's a fantastic player too. He can throw and scramble. His accuracy nerds some work but only because they're trying to change his throwing motion. Keep his throwing motion and work on his speed in the pocket. Plus, get an O-Line that can defend him.

  • marc - 13 years ago

Tebow was known not to have great practices but put him in a Game and things happen both on offense and on Defense. He could have easily moved he team and i think they would have won the game. How sickening that we cannot even beat a team with 15 penalties Our running backs accounted for only 25 yards. Tebow would have spread out the defense and made them pay. His options would have changed the whole dynamic of the game. PUT him in the Game and let him play, if he does not work out. So be it! But give him a CHANCE all the other players are being given a chance. He KNOWS how to win and make it happen. Let him play this season, then you know what you have otherwise all of the FANS are going to get frustrated and angry. I for one will be very upset and have been a fan since 1972.

  • mike - 13 years ago

how is tebow getting more votes than quinn? i'd take him over tebow in a heartbeat.

  • Cindy - 13 years ago

I voted for Tebow since I was fortunate enough to see him play at UF several times. I absolutely believe that he can and will be a NFL quarterback. What he brings to the field is electrifying. Having said that, I'm afraid that there is just too much wrong with the Broncos this year. Can you imagine the "crucifying" he would get in the media if he wasn't able to "save" Denver's season this year? He should be given some game time experience and hopefully through the draft, they can improve the offensive line (it was totally OFFENSIVE Monday night!). As the Bronco are right now . . . I don't think even John Elway could save the day.

  • john - 13 years ago

Kyle Orton is a good practice player who always plays not to lose. He is NOT a Guy who plays to win. He is a game manager NOT a winner. Winning is 40% skills and 60% attitude and he does NOT have the 60%. Please put Tebow in there. The sooner the better.

  • BigBillyGoat - 13 years ago

Tim Tebow has that intangible talent that is there and you have it or you don't. He is a Great QB waiting to happen. We can all feel it and are so frustrated that people who are supposed to know, don't! Tebow would have had a touchdown inside the Red Zone every time! Why don't the Broncos know that? We, the fans, feel so frustrated that our team still sucks.

  • Broncos Fan - 13 years ago

I voted for Tebow because he brings intangibles to the field. Orton is stunning in practice, but when it comes gametime, he is stunning in his inability to make a quick decisions or throw accurately (which is what every sports writer raves about), where was that accuracy last night? Tebow granted isn't as stunning in practice, but when the kid gets on the field, magical things happen with his arm and his feet. Yes there will be errors by him. But not every play like the debacle in Denver last night. Several times last night while Orton was crumpled, Tebow would have been down field, just as in pre-season. There's a reason Chicago willingly traded Orton for Cutler. Cutler is a gun slinger, but magical things happened.

  • Nick - 13 years ago

Dual-Threat with his size and running pads on will NOT get Tebow hurt. the dual-threat will HELP O-line by making defenses slow down due to the run part of teh option. All football is option. Even pass plays you have check downs that are really just OPTIONS. first target, 2nd, 3rd checkdown--sounds liek options to me and guess what Tebow ran at UF---OPTION Football!!

  • Jean Deaux - 13 years ago

Tebow was a good college player but he has been promoted beyond his present capabilities. He is going to need a lot of time in the trenches to develop NFL talent and abilities. He reminds me, in many respects, of Van Horn, particularly his scrambling ability. Orton is definitely the seasoned veteran and Quinn is a very solid back up. A fortune was paid to get Tebow and now they have to keep him in the line-up to get a return on their investment. I wish the zealots would cool a bit and let time and experience work their magic on Tebow. In short, give the kid some time.

  • Gauranga - 13 years ago

Sometimes natural-born leaders reveal their talents under unique circumstances. Tim Tebow may not reveal those traits during practices, but the few times the Broncos put him on the field during games last year - lo and behold - the team began to move the ball!
