Do you feel that newer ways of learning math are easier to understand than the way you learned it in school?

I think it is over complicating the problem to say that there is 4 ways to get 7. It is a goodway to show all the numbers that add up to 7. With all these new ways to do math, at home parents will be helping thier kids with the only math they know. Who will help them now, when they are being taught two ways to do one problem.
