Are 30 students in a class too many?

Bill Haas, you are spot-on. I also had at least 30 kids in all my classes K-12. I did very well in school. In college, there were even MORE kids per classroom. Like Bill said, some kids want to learn, some don't, and nothing will change it. We have to stop all of this ridiculous pandering to everybody who complains.

When I was in school, elementary and high school, we had 50-60 kids in a class and no one had a problem learning because teachers were allowed to maintain discipline. The posed issue is a symptom of the lack of parental control at home and not allowing teachers to teach anther than replace the mother and father but with no authority. Deal with the real problem.

When I was in school, 30 students in a class was normal. You had the same issues that we have today...some kids want to learn...and some don't. A smaller class size won't change that. It all depends on how many really want to learn.
