I agree with the previous commentator - It's not just a money thing - some folk may actually desire the reduced spec that still does 99% of what you really need on the move. I have spent too many years paying top cash for items that were great tech toys but essentially overspeced for my true requirements. I suspect a dose of common sense is applicable here - what do I need vs. what do I want.

If money is tight which it is for most people at the moment, Fire will be the best choice. iPad with it's price tag and no flash support is not worth the sparkle in my opinion. Again, if I had extra cash in account then yeah, iPad will be the one.
Now it's all about waiting for UK release date for 'Fire'.
