True enough Chris. We did participate in the subjugation and slaughter of people worldwide and largely escaped blame for it. Mainly due to the fact English people continued to refer to themselves and their country as English/England. However we didn't really see much of the wealth from the Empire. That mainly went to London..
For the record I completely support independence. Why on earth we think our economy is better placed in the hands of foreigners over 400 miles away instead of fellow Scottish people is beyond my comprehension.

I am Scottish and support independence...we have enjoyed no benefits from being in this union either from the empire or the UK we have always payed more into the UK than have received from it.

I have participated in many online polls especially regarding Scotland's independence in the years between 2007 and 2011, polls carried out by papers like yourselves, the Mail, the Scotsman, the Herald, the Sun; every single one of them resulted in massive wins for the YES to independence but I can't ever recall seeing the results being made public.
