Teachers do love to teach. They do love sharing their knowledge. This proposed salary would pay 5 new teachers. Superintendents make this kind of money. Teachers never see this amount. What's worse? Teachers - even though they are expected to work more and acheive more with less - were worth only $500 to the district, and many people were laid off. In these economic times it's irresponsible to even offer this kind of money.

I had no idea that this profession made even close to that amount. My God I live off less than half that. I am not rich but I have what I need and some of the things I want. I thought teachers like to teach and they say they just want to pass on knowledge and inspire students. Whatever. Sounds more like public office, Don't really care about what is important just lining their own pockets. People are so greedy and entitled. What happen to looking out for each other.
