I can't believe Francona was even considered. He was terminated in Boston because he "lost control" and the respect of his players. What makes one think that he could change that here? Both Riggleman and Pendleton have the credentials but are long shots. My choice would have to be Oquendo. He seems to be the logical fit if Cardinals ownership wants continuity in the system. Oquendo has a long history with the Cardinals, as a player & 10 years as a coach, managed in the the World Games, and I believe Winter Ball, extensive experience with the existing coaching staff, knows the Cardinals minor league system and staff. He is latino which would go a long way in working with the younger latino talent that is here now and coming up in the system .... and lastly, he has long studied the game under the the most successful manager in Cardinals history...TLR

Oz burned that bridge a long time ago with his petty little tiff with TLR and the team. Would he ever bench a veteran for a younger player or would we wind up with 9 guys in Hoverounds scooting around the field.

Chris Maloney- Memphis Redbirds manager should be on the list.
Where would the Cardinals have been without the input from Memphis?
