    Kyle for his goals

    Stu for me.

At the end of the day, if you foul someone, it's up to you to admit it and hold your hands up.

However, there are always going to be occasions where someone thinks they've been fouled and the other person thinks they won the ball. In the heat of the game, these are the issues that can cause high drama and a lot of handbags and drama lamas. Hopefully, it all evens out over the course of the game but someone, like Kyle, with quick feet is probably going to come out worse than most.

So, please try to be honest at all times and make sure that admit to any accidental fouls. Obviously, no one is deliberately trying to foul anyone so remember that there's no malice before exploding in a rage. It's only a game!

Apols for the late vote/post. Went for Foxy, but I was swithering between Jon, Kyle and him.

Read through the comments, agree with most to be fair and think Kyle did get a few whacks in fairness to him with not much in the way of freekicks. I caught a few folk but most notably didn't touch Foxy! Hope your calf is not totally screwed, voted for you cos of the heroics in nets on one leg. Jon and Kyle played well, but I thought Si and Al did too. Also thought we would win, but just couldn't get away from the Mincers, damn them all.

ahahahaha....I'm loving this week's chat lads!!! The game really set this up as it was a tight affair that I would have been gutted to lose if I was on the other team. On the other points, I'll leave my tuppence out this week.

Voted for Iain as he controlled the middle of the park and kept our heads up when we were behind. Also a big shout out to foxy (hope the knees better mate) who inadvertently kick-started our game and pulled off two stunning saves whilst between the sticks to keep us in front.

What I suggested was almost the complete opposite of what you've interpreted it as.

I wasn't saying you didn't think your team mates were talented, I was actually wondering the opposite - do you think they're all as talented as you? I was saying that I understand you must get frustrated by your team mates when things go wrong, but perhaps that's because you judge them by your own standard, (speaking mainly for myself here) we can't all have your touch, shooting, speed, fitness, and composure to make the right decision on the ball.

All I was taking issue with you about was saying we were sh*te and deserved to lose (apart from Jon). I know you included yourself in that, but it still doesn't really make it any better. You're entitled to your opnion, but I disagree. I don't think I was sh*te, nor that Marty, Si or you were sh*te.

'Enjoy the game ' - the enjoyment decreases when team mates start getting at each other, and that applies no matter who it is. I play almost every week and you play almost every week, and we obviously enjoy it - I can't see how you can take that one bit of my post and interpret it as me saying that I don't enjoy the game when you play. I enjoyed last night's game on the whole, even though it didn't end that well for us.
Not particularly enjoying the motm forum though!

Talent has nothing to do with it. At what point have criticised anyone’s talent? I said Jon was the only one didn’t deserve to lose, I didn’t say me and Jon. I said Jon. And I stand by that.

I worked my socks off but I missed a shed load of chances, and deserved to lose because of that. After Jon I don’t think anyone on our team covered themselves in glory, or to put it simply no one played above their normal standard, and that’s why I said it.

I think it’s pretty hypocritical to suggest that I didn’t think there was “talent” on my team, when it was me who agreed to the teams, me who said on the pitch if we play well we can win the game but you that said we would get stuffed before a ball was even kicked...In fact if anything it would appear that I was the one who believed we had talent and you who didn't.

“...but above all enjoy the game.” Are you suggesting you don’t enjoy the game when I play, because I don’t understand that statement? Do you think I play for a different reason?

Good game, but a bit niggly at times. I don't remember the other 'penalty' incident, but the one I gave away, I am still convinced I punched the ball when it was within the D but I can't deny I landed with my feet over the line, so didn't make any real argument,
I thought the Mince looked a bit stronger on paper, but on the night the Tatties put in a good shift and were ahead for much of the game, only losing it in the last ten minutes. The main factor for those first 50 minutes was Kyle I thought - for 50 minutes he played one of his best of the season, looked really determined, marked Ross out the game, passed the ball around, scored some great goals...
Jon played really well too, cajoled and encouraged his team mates, and ran non-stop, but I'd disagree he was the only one in our team who didn't deserve to lose. Kyle - I think you've got to accept that you're not playing with a bunch of talented footballers wasting their talent through lack of effort and slack play. On the whole you're playing with a bunch of guys with less talent than you, of mixed levels of fitness, who are there to compete but above all enjoy the game. I for one gave my all as I always do.
Struggled to decide who to vote for, but went for Neil - he's been on good form over the past few weeks and played well again last night. No sign of the obvious pressure he must be under sitting at the top of the table, with only a few games to go!

    It wasn't a foul.

  • Kyle - 12 years ago

No the difference is when I get fouled and say wasn't that a foul and you choose to do what suits you best. That's what's not on. 3 big decisions last night. we got none. What's worse Stu is you haven't even denied its a foul. You have just said deal with it. But that was the first time you went a head. It was a game changing goal, and that's the reason I didn't get that foul...but did 2 mins later at 3 goals down...when the outcome mattered not.

After that the game had changed. I lost my head and given no one on my team either wanted to or just simply couldn't shoot we were never going to get back into it. the only apology I will make is to Iain who clearly never slid in at me, but at least I held my hands up on that one (both on the pitch and now)

Every attacking player gets niggly nudges and inadvertent kicks. Unless they are bad or clear or intentional then no-one says a word as it’s part of the game. My ankles and shins are black and blue after last night (after every Wednesday night) and not once did I call for a foul. Si is the same. Ross is the same. Most folk are the same. Kyle is different.

Anyway…….thought we did great to more than make a game of it after foxy went down. Thought for sure our chances of a win went with his calf. He still made some cracking saves so a big nod to him for that. Neilly and eeks put in good shifts. Would have gone for eeks had his shooting not been rancid when he was continually set up on a plate last night. Going for rossco for getting us the goals we needed at the time we needed them.

  • Si - 12 years ago

I voted Foxy for his spell in goals which I thought was enough to spill our irritation beyond redemption. We should never have lost after being effectively half a man up, and with a lead already, so for that I minus-vote the lot of us.

For the penalty that wasn't, I said to Iain to kick the ball because there was no way I was getting to it without kicking through him, and it was just on the D. The game was niggly enough without me adding hacking into my routine uncoordinated hits.

  • Kyle - 12 years ago

I voted for Jon. He's was the only one on my team who didn't deserve to lose.

5 minutes to go and despite playing shite its a draw. If someone runs straight at your body and kicking you shin isn't a foul I don't know what is. That was the straw that broke the camels back and I lost my head. It wasn't enough that we were shite. It wasn't enough that the mince got their penalty and we didn't get ours (Iain knew he was in the box, Si said it was OK, wasn't sure it worked like that)! It was the fact that there was no equality in any decision making, it was whatever suited the mince...sorry I take that back I got one foul...similar foul to above but this time the mince were winning so it was OK for us to have it. Absolute joke.

Fox, I hope the injury gets better.

I'm out next week and the week after. so people can someone else to kick.

Came away last night feeling a bit deflated, despite our win. Not quite sure why. Possibly worried as to the extent of Mr Fox's injury, and possibly because it had turned into one of those niggly matches again.

Anyway, a win's a win. Well done to the whites for *really* competing and pulling it off, especially because I thought the Tatties had been hugely effective at the start. Kyle played a blinder in the opening half, Martie had another solid game, and Alan pulled off his now customary period of invincibility in goals.

But the Mince pulled a win out of an unlikely situation. Specially mention to Foxy for not only playing on after his injury but also making a handful of saves that caused him obvious pain. Stuart and Iain also made superb contributions, but I voted for Ross who carried over his sharp shooting from last week and I felt did the most to get us the win.

big thanks to my teammates for turning the game round after my injury.

The effort put in for the last 20mins was immense.

Thought Stu boy was outstanding last night in defense and attack and he sneaks my vote this week although anyone of the mincers could have got it for their equal efforts.
