Dave is it possible! Clone the Korg A3 into a pedal?

SDD3K Preamp Rackmount with MIDI Control would be very nice.

Or if you are tech savy enough, a new Rackmount delay with storable presets with the built in preamp. At the moment, there are no good rackmount delays.

I like the AC30 idea, but just the head, without the trem and reverb (to keep costs down). (Despite my love of trem.)

Or, what about just an AC30 tube pedal (like the Stage Hog, or the Jouster, or the Ethos)? That'd help keep costs down even more. As I understand it, a big part of the Vox tone of the AC30 is a the lack of a tone stack which sends a cleaner signal into the power amp. Also, more bass is filtered out of the AC30 circuit which is great for stage use. This would be fun with two modes, one with a tone stack, and one that bypasses it.

Ampeg Scrambler might be a nice project.

Keep the comments coming...these are all good ideas. I do recall a DIY Meatball project from a few years ago called the "McMeat" so I believe making something along those lines wouldn't be too hard.

Thanks Jason, I hear ya - my original idea behind the SDD3KP was to make it as affordable as possible, though costs have crept up on me. I did spend a lot of effort to get it just so... Maybe a kit will be possible in the future. Another possibility would be a smaller, stripped-down version with just the bare minimum of features (on/off/level).

    Hi Dave,
How about a "self-build kit" of the SDD3K pedal?
Appologies for the cheek and I can't imagine how long it took for you to get the pedal to sound so good, but the price is just out of my reach...(And I'm not implying its too expensive either)...
Maybe some thing in the style of the Kay Fuzztone project you put up a while back...
I can honestly say that had I'd not seen your page I'd have never built it myself...
Every time I use it makes me grin!!!
Thanks for all your efforts to make the unobtainable, obtainable....
    Regards,
    J.

I concur w/ Jeffrey, a "Meatball" clone would be great.

What about a Lovetone "Meatball" clone?
