If merit pay is required for teachers why not police? We get the numbers on how many crimes are committed. Why not base pay on how many are really solved? Or how about requiring police to keep in good physical condition. Have you seen most police today , they lead the nation in being OBESE. Teachers usually don't retire after 20 years with a great pension as police do . How about having police work until 65 for a change ?
