Is Clay Dead?

I liked the way Kurt played this one off for with Clay. Jax is prez now, and has the leverage to hurt Clay. I can't wait to see how it unfolds in season 5, and 6, and 7, and 8. Kurt has signed for another three seasons...

I'm 50/50 on the matter. I really don't have a reason to believe he's not dead, but it was also to quick of a death. Clay did some fucked up shit and deserves a more harsh punishment than a quick death, but Opie was filled with anger and mixed emotions. I also don't think Kurt Sutter would kill him off with out Jax being the one to do it. Clay wearing a vest doesn't explain the blood we see at the end of the episode, and having Clay's body set up against the bar in the morning doesn't explain him being alive either, so I really don't know what to think. Having Clay die before the season finale also doesn't make any sense, unless Kurt has something really big hidden up his sleeve. And for the record I think Otto is done and Bobby is now the new inside man to go to. I guess we'll just have to wait and see this week's episode to find out.

  • Peggy Currid - 12 years ago

He's wearing a kevlar vest because Gemma warned him....

  • tammi hall - 12 years ago

i think he had a bullet proof vest on jemma already told him opie knew he was waiting and ready notice no blood and soa is all about the blood

I don't think Clay is dead, I think Jax and Opie will run the club. If you remember way back when they talked about changing the club from the way it is now to what John Teller had planned. Any anyone who knows anything about real club members, a woman can never run the club, she's not even allowed behind the bar to help serve members, only members/prospects can do that. I hope the SONS OF ANARCHY stays on for more than just season 5. Kurt Sutter is an excellent writer and I'm glad he and Katey Sagal are married in real life. She is a very good actress.

nah clay is dead because hes an asshole and with clay dead jax has to stay so this makes the show continue

  • Wain1975 - 12 years ago

Clay might actually die, but i doubt it, because it was left open like that...but if he did, Jax would be President and they can get away from the Drugs and maybe even go legit, turn into a Good Guy Club, kinda like the Hells Angels did in the 90's. Who knows, that is why we all keep watching though....right?

They'll save the death of clay for the very last of the season ender if he even dies this season

  • Kimberley Smith - 12 years ago

Well he already signed his contract for next season, so unless he is appearing as a ghost, he isn't going to die

  • BR - 12 years ago

Love or hate him for the show to go on Clay must survive. I am sure a double tap is survivable, but it takes a series into almost unbelievable territory. The show must have a character like Clay and I don't see anyone on the series that could take his place. If Clay is dead, the MC will just be going on charity rides on the weekends.

I knew from the beginning that he (Clay) killed "JT", and I figured "Jax" would kill him... but I NEVER dreamed that Opie actually would shoot him, I'll bet he was wearing a vest!

Clay needs to go...He has been the enemy within

Hes not dead, SOA signed on for another season this coming year and what really would there be for SOA as a show once jax is in charge? He takes them out of the drug cartell, and prob will end the weapon cartell as well.... So what? just a motor cycle club to sit around a club house all day and deal with the drama of strippers against old ladies??? Hes not going to be dead, and if he is, then Jax will NOT be in charge because he is getting out of the club to begin with and taking (trying to anyway) his lady and kids out of charming. So really its going to be that clay is alive and will be over thrown, but it wont be by jax, it will be someone else, and then jax will continue to try to get out of charming, but i think something big will happen AGAIN to prevent it. Such as his lady STILL has a hit on her. The mexicans spoke to clay earlier saying they were going to finish the job, once she is well and out of the spotlight.

Clay has to be dead, only way they can force Jax to stay and lead the club... shit happens for a reason... and I'm glad Opie got to do it, instead of Gemma wanting him to die at the hand of Jax... and she'll still have her hand in the club... she'll either be with Tig or Wayne now lol

  • Tony - 12 years ago

I have two theories, they are pretending he is dead to get out of the cartel business or this whole season is a dream that Jax is having in prison. Last episode will be when they are getting out.

  • WESS - 12 years ago

We'll probably find out he was wearing a bulletproof vest.

  • John - 12 years ago

at the end when you see ope shoot clay you see bllod come from the bullets which means no bullet proof vest in the scenes from next week you see clay lifeless body being positioned in a warehouse of sort and tig making it seem like the niners hit him so i believe clay is dead he is a chartcher no matter how main or nonmain he is dead

  • Melody - 12 years ago

He knew Opie was coming so he was most likely wearing a bullet proof vest.

  • Josh - 12 years ago

I don't think Clay is dead because if u listen to Jax at the end, he says the niners TRIED to take out Clay. Besides that was WAY too easy. Besides Jax hasn't learned the whole truth about his dad. And DON"T count Bobby out yet!! If he was goin away, Otto woulda shanked him! Jax will pull something out of his ass to get Bobby out. Look for the sheriff to step in and help the club.

  • Crissilou - 12 years ago

I think he is wearing a vest & Jax tries to cover Ops @s$ with the Irish. So the Irish will go after the cartell, or back out of the gun deal so Jax can leave with Tarra

  • Laura R - 12 years ago

I love Ron Perlman- he's an awesome actor & plays Clay prefectly. So much so that you want his character to die. But, as he's a main character- I think he'll survive. I'm thinking Dallas season ender when JR was shot. and I agree with Matthew--- his death should come at the end of the series.. so that way Jax can go away with Tara & the boys. Then that would leave GEMMA running the club. Remember what she told Opie? "I didn't work 20 years to lose this club"...

  • louie mcduffie - 12 years ago

i would of killed him along time ago!!!!

  • Swtclown - 12 years ago

I sure hope he is dead. They can put anyone in his place, and still have plenty of storyline besides Clay already lost Tigs respect after he beat Gemma and that was his right hand man! So BYE BYE CLAY =)

  • Otto - 12 years ago

Sutter doesnt have the balls to kill Clay off

  • Matthew - 12 years ago

If Clay really is dead, then why does the season finale feel more like a Series finale. Clays death should come at the end of the Series not at the end of a season.

  • Jersey JOE - 12 years ago

    He isnt dead.
    He'll be fine... for now.
    But he DESERVES to die!!

  • Nate - 12 years ago

i dont think the club is going to let him lead no more that not the show problem is they killing the club not going to b many people left for next season n yes Jax should stay n take the club Bobby not goin to b there to do it now he n the pin

  • Mary - 12 years ago

Clay will survive, In my opinion there would be no more SOA without Clay. Love him or Hate him is SOA.

  • josh - 12 years ago

if you watch the preveiw for the next episode they were staging his body to make it look like the niners hit him. I think he's done

  • Kime - 12 years ago

I kind of wish they would end his character because if he survives this and somehow regains the respect of the club it will be too much--too soap opera-ish. If he survives they better be real creative with keeping him in the story and yet putting Jax in control. Knowing Kurt Sutter, good things are probably in store.
