Should Andy Sutton be suspended for hitting Ponikarovsky?

I hope the ones that are saying he should get a suspension are not Boston fans when they have players running goalies, and slue footing players behind the net (Lucic & Marchand), or the Pittsburg fans who have a ringmaster that thinks after coming back he can elbow players in the head. If one gets suspended lets treat them all the same, not pick and choose who gets the worst of the lousy law handed down by a bunch of idiots that are in charge, I thought Shanny would be good but he is proving to be just as bad as the rest, picking and choosing who will be handed the bad calls from long arm of the sheriff or deputy dog which ever you prefer.

When is the NHL finally going to say goodbye to these xxxxxx (I would not give them the respect of actually referring to them as "hockey" players) for good and quit waiting for more careers to be ended or substantially and negatively affected? The loss of any one quality player means more to the sport than a collective flushing of the players who's only claim to fame is the ability to apply a high speed elbow to someone's head. (And often when they have no way to defend themselves) Sutton, Orr, Cook.... there's a few more that could be added to the list. I say let them fight on but the BS, pansy, sneak attack head-hunting has got go and the only way for that to happen is to toss them for good. If the NHL doesn't have the cojones to got that far then considering the playoffs are often made or missed by a point, it wouldn't hurt to impose a point penalty to a team for X amount of days of suspension handed out (collectively) to it's players.

He jumped in to the hit, he wasn't travelling fast enough for his momentum to carry his feet off the ice from contact. He glided in, which is the proper way to attack, and my guess is Ponikarovsky got bigger as he got closer( he's 6'4", 220) so he felt he should add a little by launching into him, and that would be why there was head contact on the follow through. I don't believe he targeted the head, but contact with the head was a result of him leaving his feet. repeat offender, 10 games

I am a lifelong Oilers fan and I think a suspension is definitely deserved.

Not an Edmonton fan at all, But it wasn't that big of a hit so what if his feet left the ground didn't even do much.

This is an Edmonton paper. Of course you people don't think he should be suspended. Ridiculous hit.
