i think its good an bad..good cause they gain speed,a scorer, youth an defender.bad cause they loose size an there bench wld be thin. i personally like the deal cause they need more def and a pure scorer to take all the heat off kobe. gasol is not aggressive and he plays no defence.wht i wld like to see happen is keep odom get rid of bynum(hes to injury prone)an gasol and get chris paul and a solid center in the deal. wht i mean by a solid center is ,someone who cld put down 10pts a game but is more of a defender. with kobe, paul, odem an role players doing the majority of the scoreing u dont need a center with 25 pts a game..i wld rather they get dwight howard and loose bynum an gasol an nxt year go for a solid guard..on a different note the nba just screwed there own franchise tht they took control over( C HORNETS) next year paul is going to leave an they wont get anything for him. atleast this way they will get some solid plays and a first round pic..look at cleveland, they new labron was going to leave, instead of tradeing him an getting a boat load of talent an pics ,THEY WERE LEFT WITH NOTHING! on a little smaller scale thts what the hornets have to look forward to. hornets fans shld send a thankyou card to the nba for setting there franchise back a few years..happy holidays

I love fish but we need a young point guard to keep up with good young crop of pgs in the league now {paul} be the key we need no way should we let BYNUM go. for odom and gasol the both seemed to not show up at times. wacth bynums points go up under coach brown. go lakers time to bring our lawers in now. lets get this deal done.

BAD deal! Two star bigs for a star guard? I'm a huge Lakers fan and I am so happy the deal has fallen apart. I hope Gasol and Odom realize that the majority of Laker Fans would have hated for this deal to go through. I hope Gasol and Odom show the Laker front office how wrong they were with this stupid trade... I hope they each have their best years, help win a championship and shut the Laker Front Office up. Hopefully the Laker front office won't make the mistake of giving up the farm for Howard. Stick with Bynum... I'm betting he will blow Howard away this year.

Good deal. The lakers couldn't get there with off and on odom and gasol's soft european sensibilities. They get killed by fast guards every year and a deal to get Dwight would solve the big man issue up the middle.

As for David Stern... What the HELL?!?!?!?! You have a chance to have two of your best franchises be set up to play each other in the finals for years to come. The ratings of an LA Miami finals would be HUGE!!! All the more money for everyone. And you nix it for small market scrubs... This just in... YOU"RE NOT THE NFL!!!! No one wants to see New Orleans, or Minnesota, Detroit, Denver, San Antonio, Sacramento, Golden State, Portland etc in the finals. They want the Lakers, Knicks, Heat, Mavericks, Celtics, Bulls. You didn't build a league around the shield... you built it around stars. And the more stars in the finals, the bigger the ratings.

Ivan CP3 is not a above average player...what are you smoking? I do agree that it'll be hard to part ways with Gasol and Odom....

I think it's a great deal. As much as people do NOT like Bynum - I'm a huge fan. Here's why: for one thing he's young. He's still maturing. Second: He's very smart and knows his role. Third: He's willing to play through injuries. I couldn't see Howard playing through injuries. I can't even see him make free throws, BUT Bynum CAN!

It would be sad for many people in southern California to see Gasol go. We have gone to the finals 3/4 years since he has been a Laker. I'm sure it would be even harder for Kobe.

For LO (Lamar Odom) I think he wasn't in his prime last year, though he did win the 6th man of the year award. He needs to have a bigger role and him being on a new team would be good for him.

All together Gasol and Odom are both getting older as well. They still can play, don't get me wrong.. but we are in desperate need of a new point guard (sorry Fish) *huge fan of DFish as well* - Having CP3 on our team would be awesome. Having D12, KB24, CP3 on the same court??? I'm not sure about that..

    HUGE LAKERS FAN!

Good until Bynum goes down with another injury. Then what? You have an All-Star in Gasol and Odom who can play all 5 positions if necessary. And it has been necessary at times.
