I agree with jodi. I never thought of that. They shouldn't raise the age limit because kids make the show what it is. Obviously, Astro threw a fit because he was always a brat used to getting what he wants. He was full of himself. Did you see his audition?! And a lot of people would get upset if they got elimintated from a show where you could win five million dollars. I would!

I definitely think the age limit should be raised. All of the three young performers in the show this year clearly could not cope with the reality of their sitaution, when they were kicked off the show and weren't mature or experienced enough to handle the pressure. It is really unfair when you consider the amount of time and effort performers in the over 30s category put into achieving their dream of becoming performing artists.
Children need time to grow up, to mature, as well as develop their own individual style as performers. instant fame and success is not healthy for anyone and it was better they got a reality check at this stage of their careers rather than later on when they burn out or lose popularity once the next crop of youngsters take over their lime light. You only have to look at how the last crop of child stars turned out : Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan , Vanessa Hudgens to name but a few, to see that robbing a child of their right to grow up is the worst injustices that can be done.. All three artists Rachel, Drew and Astro have time on their side and maybe this set back will be the makings of them. They are all amazingly talented and can still have amazing and successsful careers in the music business. Just look at Jennifer Hudson! Amercian Idol gave them a wonderful platform to show off their talent to the world.

I don't think you should.........If you look at my website (above) I like to sing and I think I'm pretty good! I feel how the other girls and boys feel but I think it is a coinsedence.

Seems to me there very spiolt children raise the age limit in order to to protect The children.Yes I'm a father myself and would not add pressure to my children like that.

The "children" on here screaming that age limit should stay low are another reason it should not. The public is acting silly over this girl's elimination, but they didn't care enough to vote for her! Add Drew's reaction to the mix--stood there shaking when they announced she was in the bottom then balled when eliminated (albeit much more gracefully than Rachel). The three young teens reactions proves they're too young. Besides, what kid that young can handle $5 mill? Very few. Not to mention, the older people need the shot, they're on their last leg and didn't have as many of these types of venues when they were younger adults.

She acted like a big azz baby. She is ugly when she cries. She wants to be a woman she should act like one. She is the reason the age limit will be raised. Everyone can thank her ugly ass. When I turn 14 next year I wanted to try out but now I am just too embarrassed. She was also auto tune fake.

Nora get a grip. Do something about Nicole?? What did she do/ That Rachel girl was too fast anyway, wearing all that make up and lipstick. She needed to go so she could get a dose of reality. She wasn't that good by all means. She was good for 14 but she was NOT that good. Sorry she got crushed but she will get over it if she wants anything to do with the Music Industry. RAISE THE AGE!!!

  • jodi - 12 years ago

Rather than raise the age limit why not group by age, with one winner in each age group. Rachel is a pro, well balanced, young lady, who has more going for her than most adults. This world needs more Rachel Crow's, what a shinning example she is for the youth of today!! Hold your head high Rachel, YOU ROCK!!!!!

No leave the age where it is... Rachel was a pro... Nicloe was the child.. I can't believe that someone that is SUPPOSE to be a professional entertainer did what Nicole did.. I don't know who Nicole is and her music. But I know that I will never listen to her stuff. Really??? you want to lower the age because a person like Rachel was crushed because what a person did to her in front of millions of people?? Rachel is the only person on that show that has the heart and drive, and she is only 14... To Simon.... Fine if you are not going to do anything about Nicole for whatever reason... Support Rachel.... you know she has the talent and the drive to make it big in this bussiness. I surely hope YOU make the right choice... Rachel has the talent...Do The Right thing Simon...... By the way I finally got my Boyfriend to watch the X Factor....for the first time last night... guess what,,,,, never watching again..... Let us know what is going on with Rachel...

I DO NOT think they should raise the age limit because next year I want to try out for The XFactor. And I am about to turn 15 on the 14th of this month. I don't want to miss out on any chances! And of course they were going to react like they did, they are young . . . But no they should not raise the age limit of the show. Plus, young people just make the show, and Drew did kind of break down, she was crying alot! (not as much as me when Astro went home though) But they should keep the age limit as it is.

I most definitely feel that the age limit should be 16 and older. While these young ones are extremely talented, do we really feel like they are capable of handling all the stress and publicity at such a young age for a 5 MILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT. Let's be real. We saw how Astro reacted when he was thrown into the bottom 2, and last night's reaction from Rachel was a clear indicator that they do not have the knowledge at their ripe young age to handle the disappointments that come with these sort of talent shows. My heart went out to her but don't you feel had she been saved for yet another week it would be even harder for her when she got eliminated? Raise the age limit guys and save these kids the heartache.
