Should Cursive Be Preserved?

    How would you communicate without writing; even in the age of computers writing your message is the beginning of the contact you are making. Not everyone is using a computer now and all need the ability to write. Legal documents needs to be on paper file to be able to prove the action taken. For different reasons you never stop certain things, maybe improve them. I can't think of not knowing how to write, sign my name. What is the reasoning behind this idea. A paper file will be there while a computer file takes one power failure.

    I am 82 years old and my handwriting is still very good. I have a grandson who is still printing in school. I have no knowledge why he has not been taught cursive.
