Have you ever bought wood for your projects online?

I voted something else.. because I would actually vote.. "I haven't, but I want to." ... I don't buy enough qty for projects to make shipping worth while.

I usually buy online, but, being primarily a turner these days, I'm ordering small pieces that are much easier to ship that size and less likely that local hardwoods places have it.

Unfortunately I don't have the tools available to break down pieces in to what I need at this moment in time.

The closest I've come to buying wood "online" is over the phone to my usual hardwood dealer, who will ship purchases if I can't get down there (3-hour drive). In Canada, there does not seem to be a Bell Forest Products (etc) equivalent for proper online shopping, not that I've found at least. I would not rule out ordering online for -international- delivery, but it would add significantly to the cost, I expect.
