Jimi Hendrix is the best guitarist I have ever heard. Every day I miss him.

    What about Shannon Hoon

Can't argue with any of the names above but the amazingly underrated Criss Oliva (Savatage) needs to be on there. Glad to see Crusheverything above agrees. \m/\m/

Randy Rhoads all the way. Rest in peace.

Criss Oliva should have been a choice. He'd get my vote. As it is, I picked Randy. Both were great players who had their lives stolen so senselessly; Randy at 25 and Criss at 30. Gone, but never forgotten. R.I.P.

I can't believe Steve Gaines wasn't included. He was just beginning to shine when a plane crash took his life as well.

Shocked that more people have not voted for Stevie Ray Vaughan - the man revolutionised Blues/Rock, and is so very entertaining to hear, see and play. That man is my hero, and I have just bought a 12 string guitar inspired by his MTV Unplugged RudeMood :D

Tommy Bolin is my fave player. But Allen Collins runs a close second. I have discovered that all the guitar polls are BS because they omit so many great players and put people I've never even heard of. Some players listed aren't even good players. Just take a look at the newest Rolling Stone poll.

    Shawn Lane

I was going to vote for Danny Gatton, but he was not on the list.

This is BS without the ability to write in someone. These are many of the same old names on every "popular list". What about Segovia, Buddy Holly, Hank Garland, Steve Gaines, Allen Collins, etc.?
