I have seen Willemijn in German an in Dutch... she dederves twie the amount of votes !
If someone can do this in 2 languages it is amazing!!! I even think that give her the chance... she will concour Broadway in English!!!
In Scheveningen people didn't want to leave the seats after the pause final Laughing at gravity ( ik lach om zwaartekracht)...

WHY ISN'T IDINA MENZEL ON THIS LIST?????
I saw her today at the Circus theater here in Scheveingen (Holland) and she was truly amazing. I first saw her at the Dutch television show ''Uitmarkt.'' I was just bewitched by hearing her voice, amazing! Now, I have to say, the only other Elphaba I heard was Idina Menzel, she isn't bad either, not at all! But Willemijn is way much better! Maybe because I saw hear in real life. But for me, the best Elphaba is Willemijn, that's why my vote goes to her!
@Hannah: It has nothing to do with letting go...at all. I have seen her performing in Germany and it was amazing. I also heard that she might be even better and Dutch and gave new facades to the role. So why shouldn't she win every poll that there is. Obviously many many people think that she is the best and that's why we keep voting for her.
And as for the "giving other actresses a chance" argument: It's not that there are no other Elphaba's: In Germany we also had Roberta Valentini and Anna Thorén, just to give a few names and they were great and loved here, too, so they also get their chance. They are just not that popular in other countries as Willemijn is but there are definitely also chances for other actresses.
@ Hannah. It's not that people can't let go, that they are voting for her. It's because the Dutch are just getting to know and love her. She's been playing in Germany for the last couple of years, so I think the Dutch deserve the chance to vote for her too. Willemijn blew me away last month when I saw the show. I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes. And I think that's a very good reason to vote. :)
I never go to musicals. The only other musical I ever wanted to see was Tarzan (because of the music bij Phil Collins). But when I heared Willemijn sing on TV at the Dutch musical awards... I just had to see her live!
I can't wait till tomorrow, then I'm gonna see her! (I hope, because that alone is why I bought the tickets!)

Why is Rachel Tucker enterred twice? She should have only one entry and the two sets of votes cummulated. In fact, she has about a thousand votes.

Willemijn gets my vote. As much as I love just about everyone on this list (with one exception, and it's not Teal), Willemijn owns Wicked in three languages!

I saw 3 Elphaba's. But i have chosen for a Elphaba that does the role currently, and she plays also in my own country. Willemijn Verkaik is the best Elphaba i ever saw!
I saw Wicked a few months ago in London, with Rachel Tucker and Louise Dearman. The week after i saw it in The Netherlands, so i could compare Rachel with Willemijn, and Willemijn definitely won! But our Glinda; Chantal Janzen will never beat Louise Dearman!
Anyway my vote: Willemijn Verkaik!

Teal wicks for sure! She made her Broadway Debut this year! Most unique Elphaba for sure!
Although all of them deserve our respect and are important in the world of OZ, Willemijn is my personal favourite. I mean, who else played Elphaba in 2 countries (for such a long time) and can sing the songs in 3 languages!? Hats off!

Willemijn is a wonderful actress with a fantastic voice. She outshone Chantal (who I think is one of the best musical stars in The Netherlands) and her interpretation of "Ik lach om zwaartekracht" (Defying Gravity) is one of my all time favorite musical songs.
