Definitely impossible to tell, but the only projected front-line talent the Nats gave up is Cole, and he's never pitched higher than A ball. In exchange for two 4th rounders (one Cole, the other Norris), one 10th rounder (Millone), and one 41st rounder (Peacock), the Nats got a proven left-handed innings eater who has succeeded at the Major League level. Sure, Oakland's stadium was pitcher-friendly, but the NL doesn't have the DH - this dude is going to thrive in DC - as a #3 starter - and a damned good one at that.
Honestly, as I've been following Cole, Peacock, Millone and Norris for the better part of 3 years now, and I wish them the best - none of them are sure-fire everyday Major League players. I do hope, however, that Gonzalez and all those guys succeed so both sides get what they were looking for.

That's true, if all the A's do is shuffle players for prospects, how can they be considered winners at anything. The goal of a franchise is championships, and they haven't competed for any of those lately.

And people think the Reds gave up a lot? The Nationals could afford to throw prospects at them and so it remains to be seen if any of these guys will be stars. All I know is that this guy would have been a third or fourth choice for a starting pitcher. Cant find the plate and he is going to get hit hard as DC is a place where the ball flies pretty good.

How can anyone say the A's ever win a Trade?
If any of the players they got for Gio turn in to anything they will just be traded 4-5 year down the road, if the A's even followed the Marlins old format, that would be an upgrade... but the float as a 70 win team and trade any young talent for younger talent doesnt do much...
Im a Cardinal fan and Most cardinal fans say the A's won the Mulder trade, but how? Yeah they got Dan Haren, but Traded Haren for Car-Go and Anderson, Cargo was traded to Rockies for Holliday, Holliday was traded to Cardinals for Wallace, Wallace has twice been traded since... Oh and im sure Anderson will be traded soon...

Well, if the Nats are able to compete in the EAST in the next few years I would say they are the winners

Impossible to know at this point. Ask the question again at the end of the 2015 season.
