Do you agree with the Chargers' decision to keep Norv Turner and A.J. Smith?

NORV TURNER IS A CHARGER 1ST COACH 2ND. THE DECISION TO KEEP NORV IS BENEFICAL BECAUSE OF PHILLIP RIVERS. NORV HAS DONE HIS PART; NO TEAM IS PERFECT NOR IS ANY PLAYER. THE CHARGERS ARE A HIGH POWERED OFFENSE BECAUSE OF NORV. IF THE TEAM SCOUT OUT OR THE TEAM MAKE BENEFICIAL ADDITIONS TO THE DEFENSE AND DEFENSIVE COACHING THEN THE CHARGERS HAVE HOPE.

As a Raider fan, I fully endorse this move.

Some years ago some Giants' fans rented a plane and flew it over the stadium with a sign trailing the plane "How much lousy football should we pay for?" The Mara's listened to the fans hire George Young as their GM and he in turn hired Bill Parcel. The rest if history.

Chargers fans want to hire my plane?

Norv & AJ are both losers with a losing record and will be a repeat losing season for 2012 with no chance to make the playoffs. We need a complete overhall in the coaching and management staff to have a chance of making Superbowl, let alone the playoffs so please Mr. Spanos, roll the dice, and continue another miserable season. We don't receive any respect from the east coast teams, and go figure, why should we?? The east coast teams know how to play football while San Diego gives up in the second quarter. Yes, LA can have the Chargers, and at least, LA will not allow consecutive losing seasons with a retarded coach that receives no respect from the players he attempts to manage, I'm done with this team.

Raiderhays37, I know how you feel. I felt the same way when Norv was on your sidelines. I was elated. It was two wins a year for the Bolts. No doubt Norv can devise a passing scheme but that's a long way from being a successful head coach. His overall record in SD is skewed because he was handed Marty's team. He and AJ got together and turned that team from the most feared in the AFC to soft and mediocre. Lousy drafts, turnovers, and the worst two-minute offense ever! They had one decent win all year...against Baltimore. There is still some very talented people around but for a few, they treat them like #*@!. i.e. Vincent Jackson.
Sproles, yeah, he wasn't worth keeping around. It's great to live in San Diego, it sucks to be a Charger fan right now.

best news ever..............for the rest of the AFC west.
Now if Denver will just be stupid enough to keep Tebow as QB.

Is Joe Kuharich still available? How about Rich Kotite. Dah

In my opinion this is good news for the rest of the AFC West. My take is that there are many good coaches and Norv Turner is one of them. Coach yes, Head Coach "NO!" There is a difference and he is a good offensive coordinator, but cannot handle the Head Coach business. Many coaches have been in the same boat. Look at Romeo Crennel, Wade Phillips and many others. It takes great leadership abilities to manage the entire system and San Diego has had the opportunities to win championships with the talent they have had and the talent they let get away.
San Diego will never win the way they should with Norv Turner as the head coach, bottom-line. They don't need to hire Bill Cowher either, there are other Head Coach material out there just like what Jim Harbaugh has done with the 49ers!

Are you real Charger fans, or just the ones that get pissed when you cant see a home game on TV. I am a true fan one who drives from Calabasas for every home game (160+miles). Reviewing this seasons weakness falls on defensive coord. Manusky. Look how well the niners defense was this year without him. Also conditioning coaches and trainer, could they have helped avoid some of the injuries suffered. 4-1 in first 5 games and in last 5 games was pretty impressive. If our offensive line stayed healthy what would of happened to the middle 6 games. Turner is a good coach who is loved and respected by the players and that is important. Lets help sign most of our 19 unrestricted free agents like Gaithers, Tolbert etc. Spanos open your checkbook and sign quality DE's and a SS. I believe Turner can take us to the Super Bowl with a few positions replaced and that all stay healthy. You homegame homeys get off your butts and support you team and stop whining, else I wont have to drive to SD for a game. I want the Chargers to stay in SD

YESSSSS!!!! That is AWESOME NEWS. Not for Charger fans, mind you, but for all the other AFC WEST teams. Let's see.... Marty had a 14-2 record when he was fired. Has 'ol Norvell Turner matched that EVER? NO!!!! HAHA... Sorry Charger fans... Your owner obviously doesn't care one wit about you. That's tough. Oh... And Mr. Spanos? Good luck selling any tickets to next years home games. Can you say "Blackout"? Sure... I knew you could.

I have lost all respect for Dean Spanos. What an ingnorant statement. Lead us into the playoffs? They led us away from the playoffs! Worst decision ever!
He had a chance to get the fans of San Diego back, and he just pushed them away. Good luck in L.A. I hope you choke on the smog.

Horrible decision. I have been a Charger fan for over 30 years and this is a slap in the face to all Charger faithful. As bad a decision to Fire Marty and hire Norv. Even worse decision to give extensions following a playoff bye and eventual loss. Here's the run down...

2007 11-5 Won 2 playoffs games and lost in the Conference game.
2008 8-8 Won 1 playoff game and lost in Divisional game
2009 13-3 Got the bye and then lost
    2010 9-7 Missed the playoffs
    2011 8-8 Missed the playoffs

Does anyone see a trend. Yes we have had injuries, year after year. I would say were not conditioned properly to survive a season. We know the players aren't properly motivated. Norv Turner has a losing record and We have a top 5 qb and are wasting a chance to win a Superbowl.

This isn't a vote of confidence as much as who will work for the least. The team has continued to go down hill ever since this duo took over and you think you have the right combination in place. Well, you pay the bills, so head on, but being a Charge fan since the 60's, this is just hard to swallow.
