Thank you, everyone, for your honesty. You'd think that looking at numbers like this would be a cause for depression and discouragement, but I was strangely relieved seeing the pole after I hit submit: relieved because of your authenticity.
Relieved because I knew we weren’t dealing with a bunch of liars.
Relieved because I am reminded that the church is still a place where we can bear each other’s burdens, take off our masks, and be honest about our failures with one another and with God.
We can’t use this sense of honesty and solidarity as an excuse for our failures. We need to use it as the basis for fighting this battle with and for one another. Praise God, I was able to click “no” for the last 9 years because I learned how to be honest and find others who could fight the battle with me. This is where it starts.
I use http://www.x3watch.com/ software to keep me accountable. There is not one password that my wife does not know. At anytime she is encouraged to log on and check out any of my social media accounts.
With out this software I am sure I would struggle.
