Alaric being hit by the car WAS shocking! Jeremy chopping the hybrid's head off, again definitely shocking. The Damon/Elena kiss was the most shocking to me because I never really thought the writers of the show would allow them to get that close. They have this clear attraction and it draws their fans IN, so I always thought it would be a tease to hit at them kissing, but never full on doing so. As a Damon/Elena fan, I'm SO glad I was wrong. I hope it doesn't backfire and cause Damon more hurt. He's been rejected and hurt by love too many times!
