I agree with the others - I write about both the good things and the problems and to help the author and readers...especially in the Kindle field since the same title may be available with varied helps or improvements. I find the reviews VERY important!!

I wanted to answer that I review for both good and bad, but in the case of bad reviews, it is generally due to the product not working properly and/or easily. I've never reviewed a book though.

Both good and bad reviews about quality, writing skills of the author, poor editing if applicable, and formatting issues that interfer with reading are important to me as a buyer. Notable variations fromthe norm seem worth sharing, especially if the book involved costs more than a few dollars or is touted by others as something extrodinary but proves to be chaff, not the wheat of today's millions of reading choices.

I comment on both good and bad. I try to be helpful because others may have a similar set of priorities like my own.

I wanted to answer both "tell others about something good" AND "help an author."
