Should girl scouts allow transgender members?

I second what "Oliver" said- we're SERIOUSLY asking, should we let girls into girl scouts? Like, should we NOT let Jazz- from the Barbara Walters April 27th, 2007 segment of 20/20 on transgender children- perhaps the most famous and also YOUNGEST- not so much anymore but that's BECAUSE of her, there are younger still, little girls and boys transitioning thanks to her courage and her parents courage to tell her story to the entire world rather than hide it behind themselves... and now her sister- Ari, is blogging and campaigning world-wide for transgender people and teens everywhere on her OWN initiative. So, that begs the question, if we don't let transgirls into girl scouts, should we ban those who DO want to let them in too? They're still girls, right? Anyone who's ever seen the episode of Nip/Tuck where Sophia goes to the yoga class with Julia after that B**** "friend" of Julia's (not a friend after that) went around and had all the women sign a petition banning Sophia from their class... and then all the women except Sophia and Julia got up, folded their mats, and left after they showed up together... it broke your heart, and it didn't matter whether you were a bigot or not! Being shown, first hand, that kind of hurt people can bestow on others just because they LOOK different, or SOUND different then almost everyone else within their gender, helped you see just how little it harms ANYONE to let people be who they know themselves to be on the inside, regardless of who you or anyone else sees on the outside. It wasn't their fault their bodies were formed incorrectly in-utero, just as much as it wasn't any physically intersexed person, or any child with Downs, or a cleft pallet, or clubbed arm, or Forrest Gump! Just because you can't SEE their pain doesn't mean it doesn't exist in real life and treating them like freaks for that reason alone, makes you those worthy of living happily in hell. And I'm NOT afraid to say that! If you're at all religious, especially Christian in some form or another- even Mormon, you learn one thing- whether you think Jesus is the Messiah, song of God, or a prophet sent with the most profound messages- his message was clear- LOVE EVERYONE... and HELP EVERYONE YOU CAN... ACCEPT THOSE YOU CAN, and leave the things you can't alone. Let them be. They aren't yours to belittle or even say anything about. The Beatles listened to him and wrote the most famous songs in history based on his messages- "Let It Be" and "All You Need Is Love". How hard are those things to understand, let alone do? Seriously! Let little girls be girl scouts, regardless of what was between their legs when their bodies came out of the womb... no one EVER SEES that part of the body except for the person who owns it and, let's face it... it's what people see outside the clothes, in the face, in the mannerisms, and in the hairstyles that determines what at what gender we instantly peg people to be. At the age girls are girl scouts, who could POSSIBLY tell the difference between the trans girl and the ones born with vaginas between their legs at all. Doesn't the whole point of wearing a "UNIFORM" come into play here? For those too dumb to understand THAT point without further explanation, Google the word "Uniform" and then "Unit", the word it was based on. Then ask yourselves just how ludicrous it is that this pole even EXISTS in the first place!

This poll shouldnt even have to be up. Its asking the question "should we allow girls into girl scouts?" Of course we should! Why wouldnt we?

This poll is so distasteful and offensive.

If you don't like it you're still going to buy their cookies anyways. If little girls learning to accept diversity is a bad thing we have a problem.p

Why not? I'm a straight, happily married guy and nobody in my family is transgender, but I don't understand what the big deal is about this. Maybe there's a handful of malcontents who want to make life hard for a seven year old but gee whiz, this is the twenty-first century. Get over it already!
