I don't eat the skin because it's all furry and doesn't seem like food (does Jay eat orange peel too?), but my Dad doesn't eat the skin because he's allergic to it! He can eat the inside fine, but he can't even touch the hairy outside without swelling up. Hair is not meant to be eaten...
Much as I would always like to take Kayleigh's side, I'm afraid I do eat the skin. It's good for you and packed with nutrients which you miss out on if you discard it.
