  • That is a really good tip especially to those fresh to the blogosphere.
Short but very accurate information… Thank you
for sharing this one. A must read post!

WPML support is really mandatory!!! I'm really surprised that an amazing project as ProPhotoBlog don't support it. :(

  • Mamen - 11 years ago

Multiple language support!!! WPML or similar. It's really important for all the photographers using two languages on our website..

  • Joao Coelho - 12 years ago

    Multiple language support... PLEASE!
ProPhotoBlogs doesn't necessarily need to have all the multilang functionality (probably overkill), but rather be compatible with existing translation plugins like WPML (1st choice), qTranslate, or some other plugin.

Would love to see more grid customizations. Specifically, the ability to choose font type, size and placement on scroll-over. Thanks!

I'm in favor of threaded comments - that would be a great feature!

  • sharon - 12 years ago

*threaded comments, I dislike that when I reply to a comment it shows up at the bottom and not under the comment I'm replying to.
*YES to the MUSIC FEATURE. (If people don't like music on their websites... they can opt to NOT use that feature but there are those of us who like it.)
*the ability to change the font size within a post

I just love that you are asking for feedback!!! I adore version 4 and all of the improvements. I especially like the Facebook like integration and was wishing for a similar Pinterest and Twitter feature... something very small and unobtrusive where they would all line up in a row or be very, very close together if they have to go on separate lines.

Another thing... I think that WordPress prohibits this, but I would love to able to put two photos side-by-side in a column instead of having to do that in Photoshop. Would a drag and drop collage feature ever be on the horizon?

I've also had a hard time finding decent comment widgets and would like to have something friendlier... where it shows the author's most recent comment on their own blog (similar to CommentLuv) and I would like the option to send an auto-generated response to the author of a comment.

Do you currently have an area on the ProPhoto site or blog to make suggestions? I so appreciate being able to share ideas! Thanks for asking. :)

    PINTEREST PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mark Wilson - 12 years ago

I am firmly in the no to music camp.
Social media integration is the big one for us, and also more customisation.
Anything that enables us all to be a little more creative and different!
    Great job guys.

  • david - 12 years ago

just YES to music on web sites especially slideshows.....

  • Rikki D. Dy-Liacco - 12 years ago

    Awesome guys! Keep it up!

How about an integrated photo cart? I know its a long shot but it has to be worth it for all the photographers using this?

  • Jason Talley - 12 years ago

I would say to add an option to opt out of Facebook integration. From my Facebook / seo knowledge, Facebook isn't indexed the same as other sites and a standard comment box is more beneficial than Facebook one as far as seo goes. Is that correct?

  • Sandra - 12 years ago

Definitely more grids and gallery customisation options like styling, size or combining images/links/galleries/post in a grid.

No need for more Facebook improvements - there are so many well working plugins for FB or alike available already!

And another no vote for music - not on websites!

I still vote for more support for WPML for multi-language support. It is awkward that PPB widgets/menus/gallery or grid captions (!) are not picked up as strings for translation and so I cannot fully use many of the excellent PPB functionality because I cannot translate it :(

    Thanks for your great work.

  • luke - 12 years ago

would love to see the ability to have my post and page dates, comments, author, and tags in a sidebar next to my images!

  • Debbie Kaufman - 12 years ago

I voted, but you didn't have my first choice--threaded comments. Social media is such a huge part of interaction these days that I want to be able to reply with more options to blog post comments. :)

And, I agree with other posters: Just say NO to music on websites. Total annoyance!

  • steve - 12 years ago

GRIDS GRIDS GRIDS....need more flexibility in customizing them!!!!!

    thanks!
    steve

  • Morgan - 12 years ago

I would say ALL of the above. I would love to see more options for grids as I see it being the "future". I am all in favor of NO music.

An added bottom spanning column in the bio widget (like the footer, which has a top and bottom spanning column). Also, the ability to add hover images for menu items, to give existing menu items with images a more polished look.

  • Tracey Nolan - 12 years ago

    Facebook integration! Absolutely.

  • Marie - 12 years ago

Music is SUCH a biggie for me - please do work on it. Being able to integrate music to my slideshows and to my site would be a massive win for me. Right now I'm having to host elsewhere and only link through my blog. Clients adore the music with my slideshows and it has led to increased orders I'm convinced.

Lack of music on my site is the only reason I have considered stepping away from PP4 in the past, or at least to a Blu/Similar frontage.

  • Angus Young - 12 years ago

+1 on no music on websites. Do the internet a favour.

  • Nick - 12 years ago

How about Vertical menus with flyout submenus? or the ability to use the built in wordpress menu system?

  • William Beem - 12 years ago

Just say NO to music on web sites.
