The tortured, internal, agonizing struggle was great! :) I liked seeing how the film-maker evoked the internal landscape. He was masterful at creating tension in the viewer during the father/son scenes as well as depicting everyday childhood joy. Now that I know (thanks Mel) about the poetry allusion, the beach scene at the end makes sense and is not annoying!

Whoops should have waited till the morning... too tired... voted for "Did not like the movie " instead of " I fell asleep" sorry. Now I've buggered up the statistics!

I have always had a problem with tortured, internal, agonizing struggle movies. Call me shallow, but give me Pirate Bob and Nurse Nancy.
