Are Tim Tebow's public displays of faith too over the top?

Tebow is just expressing his faith in a natural nonconfrontational way. He is not forcing his faith on anyone. When a dog gets hit by a stone it yelps; those who criticize have much inner turmoil and must tear down others to feel good about themselves and yes they know their lives don't measure up to God's standards. Tebow is a very good role model. Period.

It is nice to see someone in the public eye speak of God. It is sad that many make fun of the way he prays. An unbeliever neeling like Tim Tebow, gets him nowhere. There is only one way to the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is your choice no matter who says what. If in doubt, seek Jesus!!!

How about you a-holes that keep telling us what we need and what God wants shut up and keep your pie holes shut. God and religion needs to go away so shove it all up your arssssssssssssss!

Stop telling us what YOU need losers, I believe in myself not this piece of crap world that has the likes of you. SELFISH HYPOCRITES!

God doesn't care about football or the success/failure of football players. If you honestly think God does care about such things then what does say about the nature of God? Leave your public displays of worship at home, at your church, or somewhere else where we don't have to watch. I presume it would bother Christians if another athlete made public displays of a different faith tradition not involving a Christian God.

The bible says to go into all the world and preach the gospel[good news] to every creature, i think Tim is doing that on and off the feild and believe it or not this is what our world needs and it[christianity] will eventually take over

If Budweiser and Nike can use sports to hawk their products, why not Christianity?

If Tim Tebow talked about his wife the way he talks about God we'd say "what a great marraige they must have," or his team, "what a strong cohesive group they must be," or was Jewish, Muslim, or Buddist, we'd have little problem with his words and actions. But as is always the case, if he's praising the One True God, the one this country was supposedly founded on, and Whose Word (the Bible) is quoted on thousands of public monuments and buildinds, there's a problem. Why can't he express himself and his relationship with God the way he wants without the backlash. Further, if he we're the starter and so good at what he does this wouldn't even be an issue. And even further, this is just another unnecessary mess created by the media to get ratings, the man's in love with God and thanks Him at every turn. So what should we do now, complain about all the guys that blow a kiss to their departed dads when they score or the guys who say "Hi mom" when the camera hits them. Note to sport media we want more sports and less Enquirer-type garbage.

"Tebow Mania" is driven by the media. If Tim Tebow wants to bow down and thank God for his blessings, why should anyone care? How is he hurting you? He's not trying to convert people, he's just being true to himself. I'd much rather see a decent, grateful, Tim Tebow leading an NFL team and presenting a good example than what most of the over-paid, over inflated egos (looking at you, Quinn) pro players represent. So sad to see how hateful and intolerant our society has become.

The Tim Tebow media coverage is about a man's faith not about sex ,guns ,drugs etc..... oh yeah , that's other people in the NFL that kids look up too.

No, I don't think Tim is over the top. He is using football as a platform to get people talking about God and it is working. Since when did you see sports analyst quoting Scriptures? I think it annoys people because it makes them feel uncomfortable.

My advice to Brady Quinn is if truly he is a Christian like he said he is, is this .... Matthew 6:33 "Seek first His Kingdom and all His Righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well". So don't worry about being leapfrogged by Tim Tebow. Walk your faith and not by sight!
