Is a waterfront redesign that makes SunFest move OK?

I have mixed feelings about this. The downtown waterfront just finished a major renovation where there surely must have been a team of consultants and designers and architects who were paid dearly to make the decision to leave the green grassy lawn areas. I think it is beautiful the way it is. Someone mentioned that when Sunfest first began, downtown was not a great place to go. Well now it is. Why wouldn't the same thing happen to Currie Park?? That whole area screams for renovation and development. It is right next door to downtown and need to become an extension of it. A perfect place for Sunfest!

p.s. This blog needs to be monitored so comments like the first one can be deleted. None of us should be subject to that.

sunfest leaving the waterfront will change the feel to it. Sunfest brings people in from all over the state changing the location will punish the business owner in that area and I fear the end of what we know and love to be sunfest.
