I think it's a good idea as long as they don't get too carried away and start making dolls of all the hunger games characters. Barbie dolls are made to be perfect and a barbie can basically be a girls role model, but i think Katniss is a MUCH better role model to girls.

OMG! I am all for a Katniss barbie doll! Make Peeta and Gale too though!!!!
hello - 12 years ago
seriously! WTF ARE YOU GUYS THINKING, ITS A DOLL MEN'T TO REPRESENT HOW KATNISS SHOED UP THE CAPITOL IN HER TIME IN THE ARENA, NOT TO REAPRESEN'T HOW MUCH WE LIKE HER SUFFERING!

i think katniss shouldn't be made into a barbie as kids who see it will want to watch the hunger games and its not a film that is suitable for them
meg - 12 years ago

It'd be good for kids especially young girls to see a Strong woman figure

Well i think barbies are stupid (no offense) but they already have Justin Bieber dolls! So i think they should make ba Katniss one but then again why would a parent want a kid to play with dolls from a book/movie where they kill each other? What a fun game! (sarcastic!)
Cola - 12 years ago
NO. What do you think, little 5 year olds re going to play with a doll from a movie and book about people killing each other? I don't think so. And i don't think Katniss would like it. I know I wouldn't
wow17 - 12 years ago
im sure katniss wouldnt like it but it would be a cool thing to have! A collectors item maybe?
Tealbuddie - 12 years ago
A barbie doll would ruin it.

Go for it.
Katniss is a better role model than Barbie or Bella (Both of which are dolls) Twilight is WAY less apropriate for the age range than Hunger Games and definatly not half as constructive. I would far rather see my sister playing with Katniss and Peeta than Bella and Edward or Barbie and Ken.

Lets be honest, barbie isn't a roll model for young kids. demonstrating that good looks and nice things get you places and make you happy is not the idea you want in your child's head. Katniss would be a better role model for young girls (not perfect) but better than what they have now. i think it would be a good idea because she represents hard work and "down to earth-ness" i suppose.. what the hell lets make that doll!

I'm 10 and I've read it and Katniss is my fav charachter and i'd love to have one they've had twilight barbie dolls so why can't there be Hunger Games dolls and i luv twilight
o - 12 years ago
katniss even says that she hates being girly!!! why would you make her into the most wellknown girly toy in the world?! dont do it!!!!!!!!!! thanks....and go team gale!!!
Sandy - 12 years ago
Katniss would take the Barbie doll and use it as firewood. If they want to make a doll of her then make an action figure or call it an action figure, but a Barbie doll? Seriously?
The merchandising for this movie is going all wrong.

I think it's a terrible idea. It would completely undermine everything Katniss' character stands for.

Little kids play with barbie dolls and little kids should not read or watch the Hunger Games. So what's the point?
kate - 12 years ago
they already have 7 inch action figures of peeta, katniss, and gale
Bleh. - 12 years ago
Im more concerned about if a little girl comes to love that doll to such a point she wants to know where her charecters come from. Barbies tend to be for kids around 6-9. I dont think id want to have to read the books to a child of that age, maybe a few years on but defo not at that age. I want my children to love these books because they've read and understood them. Not because they became overly attached to a doll based on one of the charecters that they knew nothing about in the first place.

I think that would be neat. For me personally it would set an example to all the younger girls that you do not have to be super girly to be someone who can make an impact. We all need examples to look up to.
kelsey fliehs - 12 years ago
well i know that people don't like that barbies are girly but just think of how many younger girls will see this strong and empowered doll and plus also think of how many girls buy barbie dolls and how many of them will be inspired to look into the hunger games

I think it's a cute idea and all, but Barbie? I mean she's like a hunter not a fairy tail star! Why not make her an action figure or something? Also, if that's the way it has to be... MAKE PETTA TOO!

Let's just say if the was a, "NO NO PLEASE GOD NO" option? Yeah, I'd be clicking that.

I never liked dolls as a kid, so I wasn't all for it. But I figured that a Katniss doll sets a better example for kids than a standard barbie that waits till she gets Ken to play housewife.

Katniss should not be made into a doll because she is too tough. She is not a girly girl. She is more of a tomboy. It's a cool idea and all, but no. That would ruin a bit of Katniss' image in my eyes.
