More than 3.5 years ago, I found the skin I liked, and kept it on. I've been wearing it ever since, with very few exceptions. And I've been wearing my self-created shape even longer.
For me, the ability to change my appearance when the mood strikes me is one of the most exciting aspects of SL. For a while, I stuck with LAQ, League, Mynerva and Belleza, as those seemed to be the only brands that looked good on my shape. Lately with the emergence of new and talented skin designers, I'm discovering more and more looks that appeal to me. I find that different skins convey different attitudes or personalities, so when I'm putting together an outfit, I often find myself considering which skin will complement that look the most.

I stick with the fat pack of Eva skins by Tuli for roleplay (as a human my skins don't change)but when I blog (be it daily or weekly) I will change my skin to something a little less plain, the same when roleplaying a fae. I have over 100 skins...!

It's already hard enough to find a skin for a male in his 60's. Once found. I tend to stick to it.

I tend to stick to one skin designer (League) and when she releases a new skin I will update then. Other skins don't tend to suit my face, no matter how pretty they look in ads. :(
