Simply put. Parker should have had more games under his belt.
But previous managers have only picked top four. Hence the stupid obsession with having both Gerrard and Lampard. England have craved for a leader in the vast of a Bobby Moore .
So here we have Scott Parker professional player through and through. Respected, talented and he'll die for the cause. What more do you want from the English captain?
Parker should be captain for many years to come I hope.

The only reason he got the armband was because he plays for Tottenham and Pyscho wants to stay in with the next England manager. Oh yes and because Gerrard plays for Liverpool and the FA as well as half the South now hate Liverpool!
