i don't think there should be any reduction in the no. of foreign strikers. If foreign strikers are banned or reduced then the standard of i-league will deteriorate and defenders like Raju,Gouramangi and etc. will look like John Terry and Nemanja Vidic. As of now the defenders are having some experience against some foreign strikers but if the number is restricted or reduced then it will deteriorate our defence and we may not get good strikers as well. Strikers like Robin Singh,Sushil Singh,Ashim Biswas,C S Sabeeth,Subhash Singh,Joachim Abranches,Manandeep Singh....and many others will get limited chance but they have to prove themselves in whatever few chances they get. For example, Robin scored a brace in the kolkata league derby last year and got good media attention and a place in first 11 but he could not maintain his form and hence saw little action in the rest of the season. Look at Manandeep Singh this year, he is the highest scoring Indian striker and hopefully will get an offer from a big club may be Dempo,Churchill,Mohun Bagan or East Bengal but he has to continue with this form only then the clubs will not run after foreign strikers. Subhas Singh ,Ashim Biswas and Sushil Singh are good examples of talented Indian strikers not managing to maintain the level of performane needed to get a place in the starting 11. So the problem lies in the strikers and not the club officials.
