I agree with all of the above - Annette should be rewarded for all the good hard work she has done helping these cats and getting their population under control. TNR is a very effective program and widely used around the USA. I hope the powers that be in Liberty will learn more and support this woman, not harass her. It is the right thing to do and she is very courageous to take this on. Feral cats ask very little and actually contribute a lot in keeping the rodent population down. They deserve to live and it is wonderful someone is actually doing something positive to save them.

I have had colonies for years. I pull the kittens, tame them, spay/neuter them, and find them homes. The adults I spay/neuter, vaccinate, and feed everyday. The colony went from 36 at first, then down to under ten when the kittens are trapped and the tame cats (everybody gets spay/neutered) are adopted out. One of my colonies got down to two. So I brought them home to live with me. We have a large cat proof backyard and they are happy with the others. They are allowed in the house when they want and have box-trained themselves. So what's the problem?

I agree with what she is doing. There are a lot of cats out there. Thing is if owners spay or neuter their animals we wouldnt have this problem. The females get pregnant and have 10 kitties and they just go in the country or where ever and release them without consequence because they cant handle or afford them. Therefore you have a cat population problem.

they need to CHANGE the laws!! she shouldnt be in trouble, and why cant the neighbors help, instead of getting mad, the cats were already there when she MOVED IN!!

Thank the Lord for people like Ms. Betancourt. I believe it is a persons duty to help all that can't help themselves. Most of those cats at one time belonged to someone. But the cute kitten grew up. Liberty sould be rewarding her, not taking her to court!
