I get the whole point you're trying to make but the terminology is flawed. You are referring to push-up bras, not regular padded bras.
Society doesn't think it's appropriate to see women's nipples through their shirt, so if we wear a tank top we are essentially forced to wear a padded bra or be put down for not wearing one

i think you make a good point, the padding shouldnt be excessive but at the same time, a little push can make a big difference. PLUS your boobs are always changing size. i know someone who went from almost being a D cup to shrinking down to a 32 B! so it can make a very big difference. Especially if your working out. so i think if i had a chance to go buy a bra right now, i would get a regular bra, one the push ups can get annoying, and second theyre more comfortable.
