I have mixed feelings for the whole episode. I love Cas. But it seemed.... Incomplete? Yes, the trenchcoat scene and Cas regaining his memories were epic, but it seemd too simple for Cas to be able to just 'take' Sam's halucinations onto himself. You'd think, with such a broken soul, it would be a little harder than just, *touch* "Done!"
And, since Cas said Sam was beyond repair, wouldn't his soul still be in shreds, with or without the halucinations? Does it mean he's 'healed'? And Cas does't have a soul (stated in the show by Cas himself). He's an angel. So, how was he able to take on the 'crazy' from Sam?
    Lots of strange, unanswered questions.

Ah, my bad - I thought it said No was winning! Well that was confusing.

Cas has always been, at his core, a good character. His actions last season were an unpredictable result of trying to do the right thing; something Sam and Dean have done, with worse consequences, on several occasions.

And from the looks of things, the above comments agree with me... it's odd that there aren't any questions espousing the 'winning' view?

Every once in a while the writers make the characters go psycho and make them do stupid stuff. The only difference between the characters is that no one forgave Cas until he gave up himself. And he didn't even get a thank you. He got left at a mentalhospital with a demon. I have recently developed a Sassy-craving. Sam always forgave Cas. He told Dean that they shouldn't leave him. He got all bubbly meeting Cas for the first time. He got sad when Cas only answered to Dean's calls. It's to bad Cas can't see it, he's to busy eye-stalking Dean.

I surely voted yes. That was really the only way he could be forgiven and more so the only way he probably could forgive himself. Still, as one of my all times favourite tv carachters would say (Angel) "it's a rocky road to redemption", and I think redemption is something more of a process than a single moment of selflessness and sacrifice. I think redemption comes with an emotional journey you gotta make by yourself, so Cas is gonna have to elaborate his own guilt when he's sane again in order to reach complete forgiveness. What he did in TBAI is "just" the beginning. More like Sam has come to terms with all the mistakes he has done not really by jumping in the cage, but only in S7 (when he says he doesn't feel guilty anymore) after being able to really comprehend the meaning of it all.

About the scene with the trenchcoat, it seemed to me like a scene between soldiers, between warriors. Dean was like handing Cas the weapon he needed for fighting the battle, and he was saying that Cas was not completely lost, in every sense of the term. He was not lost to Dean, he was not lost to God .. he could still fix it, still be forgiven .. but I don't think he already had forgiven his friend .. he was like saying he could .. but I think Dean needed something more solid .. and he clearly had it when he saw Cas not thinking twice about what he could do for Sam. It really amazed me .. I loved Cas, but I really thought I could never forgive him for what he did. I'm glad he proved me wrong and now I love him more than I ever did before.

You must be bloody idiot if you think that he has not redeemed himself after watching this episode.

Castiel is awesome, and what he did...was truly heroic! Of course he has redeemed himself, what else should he do? I was shocked at how quickly Dean went back to "I don't give a f***, Cas who is Cas?" mode after he got what he wanted, meaning Cas fixing Sam. I was disappointed by Dean's attitude the last 2 minutes of the episode.....Anyways, I loved the fact that Cas remembered and that he wore the TRENCH-COAT and that he is Cas and not Emanuel anymore, Misha did an amazing job and I am so happy to see him back, SPN was dead without him, there was always something missing.

My favorite scene was when he was getting his memories back, at that moment I really had too many Destiel feelings.

And Jared was awesome and it was so heartbreaking seeing Sammy like that. Sammy was the sweetest throughout the whole episode. Now I am looking forward to watching the episode Ben Edlund is writing, he is the best and I adore his work, and he is the one who understands Dean's character the best, brings out Sam's darker and sweeter side in one episode and understands the dynamics of Dean's and Castiel's relationship the best.

Only insecure, spiteful Cas haters will say that Cas hasn't been redeemed. They never hold Sam accountable for anything, but leave it to them to have Cas suffering possibly for all eternity yet that still not being enough for this character to be on their good side. The fact is that Cas threatens Sam girls because he has a spot in Dean's heart that is special and in their insecure minds the only person who should have a special bond with Dean is their brother. Well, reality check but while family is important people do find soulmates who are not incestuously connected and they do make great friends. So whether you think that Dean and Cas are best friends or potential lovers, the fact is they have a bond that is stronger than any other bond Dean has (with the exception of Sam, of course). So haters gonna hate! They're intimidated. That's all.
