I can definitely appreciate your points. They are well made as usual. I agree that it's doubtful gsp will take such a fight. But as to the question of "should" the fight happen, I come down on the side that says hey man, its a jungle out there, lets put two athletes in that cage and let them compete! All else be damned. If we always put the best against the best, we will in the long run have the deepest divisional development. If we do too much to protect gsp's legacy, (and I loooove the guy) I think we do a disservice to the next three champions whi are waiting to shock the world. If we focus on protecting any one commodity, I fear we will limit the development and evolution of the sport.
