When you think about "MVP", it has evolved from being the best player in the league. Rather it's which player can you take out from a team-leading to that team losing a significant amount of games. Lebron James is clearly the best player in the league (that ONE game against OKC should not deter him from that merit), however the Miami Heat can and will win games WITHOUT him. What does this mean? Well, that means Lebron simply does not win the MVP award. This award knocks of D-Rose, and Durant as well. The only two viable choices are Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Love. It seems clear whenever Kobe has an 'off night'-the Lakers lose. Kobe must go out and put up 30+ points, controlling the game tempo, and determining when to get teammates involved to win, and he is clearly doing that. Kobe Bryant has been robbed of the MVP several times (including the season he dropped 81 points), and it should not happen again. SSMITH push for KOBE!

Lebron James is better than Durant, Durant is a good shooter, but Lebron is good in all.

We can't speak Durant is better because Oklahoma won vs Heat, one game can win any team.

We can't speak Durant is better because Oklahoma won vs Heat, one game can win any team.

Just see Lebron is leading his team in each categorie. This is an MVP. Lebron James

    LEBRON JAMES
IS CLEARLY THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE BY FAR RIGHT NOW HE HAS BEEN BATTILING INJURIES AND THE GAME AGAINST THE MAVS WILL PUT HIM BACK ON TRACK AND THE GAMES AGAINST THUNDER ITS LIKE THEY DIDENT STEP UPH FOR THE GAME BUT WHEN THEY PLAY THUNDER AGAIN HE IS GOING TO SHOW WHY HE IS MVP AND WHY DURANT IS NOT

AND BY THE WAY KEVIN DURANT MAY NOT BE THE MOST VALUBLE PLAYER ON HIS TEAM HE IS JUST PUTTNG UP THE MOST NUMBERS WHICH IS POINTS RUSSEL WESTBROOK IS THE NUMBER ONE REASON THEIR SUCEEDING WHILE KEVIN DURANT DOES THE SCORING AND SOME OF THE REBOUNDING
LEBRON JAMES IS DOING IT ALL FOR MIAMI ITS CALLED MVP(MOST VALUBLE PLAYER)

THE DEFINITION OF MVP IS LEBRON JAMES AND IT SHOULDENT EVEN BE A ARGUMENT
    HATERSZ STOP HATING

Personally, Looking at the total outlook of the season..
Correct me if I am wrong, I have scouted that Durant has an overall better season than LeBron, although he has a solid season as well..

Kobe will always be a contender, same as the two mentioned above, but this is the season where Durant will get his honors for the hard work and dedication to transform a modest team, OKC, into a top seeder in the West. It is his turn for MVP 2012.

  • Redia - 12 years ago

We've all seen Lebron at his best and clearly the last two games were horrible.Doesn't mean there's better to come. Not everyone is going to have a perfect game. Now Durrant is playing really good, but we'll see how he does in playoffs.

  • rodel - 12 years ago

Durant is playing to make his TEAM at the top.
Lebron is playing to make HIM at the top.

Lebron is making a play for himself, ignoring a Point Guard (Chalmers).
Durant is listening to a real Point Guard (Westbrook).

    Durant is a humble man.
    James more like Mayweather.

    MVP RACE = Kevin Durant

  • rovick - 12 years ago

the heat lose 2 straight games the bulls lose 1 if derrick rose come back we will win by 20 in a row

  • rovick - 12 years ago

llebron is going to be in ten drose will be at 2

  • 6 Rings - 12 years ago

MVP is all about being clutch and having that finesse when it matters. Durant has always been a scoring leader. It doesn't matter if a person is playing alongside other all stars, it's about elevating your game to a level that even makes your peers better, imminent of Jordan, Kobe, Bird, Magic, etc. Lebron is a great player but in terms of what happened Sunday it looked like the Heat weren't about playing.

The 95' NBA season the Bulls were 72-10. Right now the current Bulls are 40-10 in a compressed season of 66 games, and being without Rose, got to give credit where it's due. When it comes playoff time it will be interesting to see how Orlando, Miami, Chicago will unravel.

Can't forget Kobe in the MVP hunt, I wouldn't have D. Howard in the mix just yet, rather have D. Wade also be a contender. Cp3 another guy that no one has even mentioned for MVP.

    1 love

  • QELLIS - 12 years ago

@ dman, 6-2 are you sure about that?

  • dman - 12 years ago

kevin durant is good, but i just think lebron is an overALL better player a more complete player, lebron just played that game like it was any other i dnt think he put effort into it, these guys are the best in the game right now, yes they are friends they play with each other all the time. Dnt forget lebron is 6-2 against the thunder and he has shown up durant before, and durant has shown up him. i think being at home plays a huge factor whoever you are.

  • marc neuman - 12 years ago

kevin Durant is a great player, but hes clearly not the MVP, LBJ has done it all season on both ends of the court guarding teams best players from PG to C. He's even better on offense he's the best all around player. People cant let 1 game over look what he has done all season.

  • quintin ellis - 12 years ago

KD has to get mvp this year..this is his year...they have the best record in the west for a reason. OKC has to be up in wins against the heat because they win each time they play.. lebron is overated to me.. not saying he's one of the best but KD just made him look weak last night...also KD is very consistant.

  • MKel - 12 years ago

An MVP is a most valuable player, a player that if they don't play the team doesn't win due to their ability, leadership and other attributes, they are vital to the team's and organizations succuess. LeBron and Durant are amazing players, likewise with Kobe, Love, and Dwight, but the clear MVP has to be Kevin Love, he is putting up amazing stats on a young team, rebounds at will, scores at will and if he does not play the T-Wolves don't win. Kevin Love first, Kobe second, then fight over LBJ and KD. This is just my opinion, no haters here just love the sport.

  • TGod - 12 years ago

Can't really put Durant ahead right now when u have Russel Westbrook averaging 25 a game too! and the fact that efficiancy should come into play on this and well lets face it Lebron has been a top that rating ever since he came into the league! Give lebron 25 to 30 shots a game and see what he comes up with??

  • jjuan - 12 years ago

    lebron baby

  • Sea Pea - 12 years ago

Easier to build a team around Love and Dwight. They are playing alongside fecal matter. Too much credit is given to MVP canidates who play alongside allstars. Not fair.
