    I voted I'm not sure and I'll give you the reason. Obviously the gentleman in question was behaving out of the ordinary and is a very ill man given that he went through some kind of melt down, psychotic type of episode. Whether he was fully aware and culpable of what he was doing at the time is doubtful since he obviously wasn't sound of mind. For this he does deserve the best of care and sympathy.

    However if he had some kind of mental condition and was hiding it from the authorities beforehand then he does have culpability since a commercial pilot is obliged to disclose all medical conditions to his employer. It's hard to believe this incident happened just out of the blue without the gentleman having a prior condition relating to it. Either way I wish him the best of luck.
