Which tennis tournament has the best claim to 'Fifth Slam' status?

    Madrid.

    Stop all the America-centrism.
    The dominance of Spanish players, and the large number of clay-court
    tourneys and specialists argue that there should be more than 1 clay slam,
    if you're going to have 5 slams.

    This is an interesting question as both Miami and Indian Wells continue to grow in popularity and are the leaders in the US hard court series. It is my belief, nevertheless, that these two tournaments do not uphold the long lasting tradition of the current four slams.
    I'm not quite sure why current Masters Series tournaments need to be elevated in status, but the one that stands out for me is The Rogers Cup held in Toronto, Canada. I don't believe another slam should occupy American soil and with the new legalization of brothels in Ontario and across Canada, Serena Williams could be put to work not only playing tennis but flat on her back.

    I have been going to indian wells for over 10 years and have seen it grow to what it is today . I hope to be there for many more to see what happens.
