The emphasis on reading is good, but enough is enough. When many children are several grade levels above current grade, it seems that placing more focus on science or history would be good.

Yes, sometimes I do feel as though it's a lot of homework, because my child spends HOURS on it. Taking breaks only to eat and shower. No time for any relaxation. Thankfully, it is not like this every evening. Just at the beginning of the school year
