While I don't have a real problem with 8 or 9, nothing will improve unless sight lines are improved as well. The photo essay highlights these concerns. The "white car" hid behind the SUV so limit parking there. Improve the ability to look north by adopting an alternative track barrier mechanism. This is not solely a Village problem, it is also a CSX problem and requires a joint solution.

I fully agree with the first half of Mr. Campbell's comment.
While I partially agree also with the second half of his comment, I believe that a "Local traffic only" sign on School Street (also backed up by periodical strong enforcement), might help keep everyone happy and safe.
Come on people! This is neither rocket science nor a NYC traffic problem. A little bit of common sense and some FAIR enforcement of new and/or existing traffic rules can keep our town as safe and enjoyable as it can be.
    Peace.

It certainly is not that I don't want change in the village, but rather that I think making the stop sign more visible and ticketing drivers who don't stop are ultimately the answers to the intersection problems. I watched 25 vehicles proceed through the intersection going south the other day. Only 3 of them stopped- they were school buses. Putting another stop sign on Hudson Ave. will really cause bad traffic delays as there are so many vehicles going north. They will use School Street if traffic backs up. Not a good idea because of the concentration of homes and driveways on that street.

My reservation is the preference of not having a flashing or blinking light at the stops.
Thank you for all the updates!!
