How should Arkansas handle the Petrino situation?

It would be interesting to know how many people who voted to "fire him" are Razorback fans vs. fans of other college programs or still angry Falcons fans. As a Razorback fan, candidly I'm still struggling with what I think the administration should do. But if the choice is made to retain him, I believe that most people who would publicly decry that decision outside of Arkansas are probably being hypocritical. There is no doubt in my mind that a Bama fan who would condemn that decision would be much more forgiving if Saban had a similiar transgression (not picking on Bama fans, just picked them as an example).

Adminstration can't fire him for being a cheater and for what he did to his wife and for those who think he did this to his fans. There are tons of cheaters out there in this world in higher positions than a college football coach (past and present).

They can punish him for breaking any part of his contract. They can also punish him if it is found out that he hired this employee because of his relationship with her, not because she was the best person suited for the job. This could totally be a Human Resources nightmare as well.

It's a shame that people in these positions feel that they are just having an extra-marital affair, but the fail to see the consequences of their actions and what knock-on effect could happen from these strange scenarios that unfortunately seem to end up playing out in real life.

I'm still a Razoback fan, always will be. I'm sorry for the kids on the team and in the department that have to deal with this, and what kind of unfortunate role model they have.

Before the administration decides to keep Petrino, they need to think long and hard about the message they'd be sending to the thousands of young people attending their university: it's okay to lie to your superiors, you'll eventually be able to continue your bad behavior. Petrino needs to be fired--the football program will continue in the tradition it has for the past several decades.

Well yes, of course he should be fired for what he has done his family and to the Arkansas community., among other things. The man has a long history. You should never believe a work that comes out of Petrino's mouth. Just ask Mr. Arthur Blank.
