Let him in.... he made a mistake, give the guy a chance to redeem. Besides, we now got depth at QB.... as far as I am concern, he should be allowed to compete for QB. Let the best guy get the starting job!!!

Yes, the kid should be allow to return, however not without some imposed sanctions which should be decided by the coach and team which would allow him to prove a genuine regret for his action while showing a renewed commitment to the organization. Which one of you who says he should not be able to returned have not quit on something one time or another in your life. A person far removed from a situation, yet is so ready to harshly judge another's action has proven themself unfit and unqualified to speak on the matter.
Wisdom, character and experience says you don't just throw away a potentially promising career because of one adolesent action. Furthermore, a coaching staff and a team is just another form of a family dynamic with simular problems, set-backs, challenges and more, it how you work through them that builds a winning character for all parties involved. It would be a different thing if there was a history of simular behavior.
This decision is not about satisfying the angry mob who more than likely have achieved no real level of success, IN ANYTHING yet is eager to judges another out of their failures or lack of success, This decision is an opportunity to rob failure of another victory over a truly gifted talent.

I agree, he is young and deserves a second chance. I also agree, I can only speculate on Gabbert (because his bro) that he is good but thats irrelevant. The crux of my comment though is GODFREY MUST AGREE THAT HE IS NOT PLAYING QB (other than maybe wild knight) ANYMORE at UCF. A controversy with him cannot occur again.... He is an athlete, push him to fill other voids. If HE is okay with not being a QB contender anymore, then give him another chance.

Are you freaking people out of your mind? He QUIT on his team. He took his ball and went home. Left before the last team meeting. Amazing , I did not see Calabrese throw a hissy fit when he got yanked 2 years in a row. Took it like a man and helped Godfrey. And not to mention he is not that good. They won in 2010 with a great defense that scored points. He put up about 26 total points in C-USA and Liberty bowl combined. Which was about his average other than the Samfords and Charleston Southerns. Teams took away his 3 yard Bubble Screens and QB draws and he was done. Bortles is a pro style QB and stretches the defense with the long accurate pass. He wants back because no one else wants him. Good thinking by GOL to have 8 QB's on scholarship and have to turn one of your running backs into a LB. There are other positions of greater need than QB. Wake up Georgie Boy,stop running a 1970's option offense and open it up to a real QB, Blake Bortles and join the rest of college football in the 21st Century. Or you can bring back a malcontent, back stabbing, over rated, quitter QB who's family will rip you when he does not play.

He deserves a 2nd chance..like his coach...he is only 19 y/o he is bound to make mistakes in his life..it is what he learns from this mistake that will make him a better player. What happened to all the 'in godfrey we trust' homers out there. The kid can play QB he just needs a system to excel in..he is an athlete that can play QB..so let him play and do not hold him back...Gabbert??? prove to me he can play before you annoit someone w/ a name you are familar with before you say he is 2nd string and you do not need Jeff ..at least we know Jeff can play Div 1 FB...at this time last year how much confidence did u have in Bortles?

Let him back but not because the "knights were 5-7..." Godfrey should be allowed back as long as he fills roles other than QB (minus an occasional wild knight). Bortles, Gabbert, ... compete now, not Godfrey. There cannot be a discussion about that anymore. If Godfrey is okay with taking on other roles then why not? But it must be clear from the get go that he is not touching starting QB anymore. He isn't a passer and he/we should know that now. He is an athlete, thats it. An athlete that has the potential to contribute in other roles.
