Should Spotsylvania try to have Redinger repay her moving expenses?

I feel she should have to repay 75% 0f the money. She signed a contract and she is now backing out of it. I agree that in the future the school board should include a clause for repayment. Who would of ever thought that she was going to stay a year and then go back home. Family issues or not she didnt uphold her end of the deal. If the 20k was comimg out of her pocket each time she moves she might think harder about fulfilling her contract.

I agree with Bryant Halstead, especially on the point that a reimbursement clause could have been put into the contract and that the school board may want to put such a clause in future contracts. While I am disappointed that the Supt. stayed only one year, I'm not sure what the point is in trying to get $20K out of her, especially given the circumstances of the family issues. When put in the context of the entire school system budget, it's not that large a percentage.

We are dealing with an extraordinary set of circumstances. Let's not overlook the fact Redinger is leaving to be closer to her mother due to an illness. Absent this fact she may not have entertained the idea of relocating. Would you want to shell out 20K while also dealing with the illness of a loved one? Sometimes lessons are costly and Spotsylvania County should have had the foresight to include a clause in Redinger's contract for this. Without this clause, in my opinion, they need to write it off and move on. Just my two cents.

I think at least 75% because she only worked 25% of her contract.

I feel that she should be required to pay back half of the $20,000
