CFLs do not fit in many of my lamps, and they overheat in enclosed recessed lighting. The LEDs just cost too much for now.

    Steve is correct,
if broken they are a HAZMAT issue, because of the mercury.

The new "Energy efficient" lighbulbs become Hazardous Waste to dispose of them. The Incadescent bulbs are easy to dispose of when they burn out. They can just be thrown in the trash, not the new bulbs. There is also the safety factor with the Mercury in the new bulbs, if one breaks. I am stocking up as much as possible with the original incadescent bulbs.

I'm all for "going green," but the price for this light bulb is ridiculous.

Until bulb manufacturers make power saving bulbs more affordable, people are going to feel like they're being ripped off.
