Sorry but as close as many want to make this it's all Mel during the time he played there were not 5 to 6 guys you would name ahead of him. As much as we want to love Ward as Steelers fans when you mention WRs during wards 14 years there are several that can be argued to be ahead of Ward. Dont get me wrong I love Ward think he is fantastic but the fact you can argue that 4 to 5 guys are ahead of him in his era makes him loose this vote.

This vote for me was the toughest. Look up shut down corner in the dictionary and there is a picture of blount completely using a WR. On the other side of the ball you have the best blocking WR in NFL history who holds nearly every steeler WR record there is, super bowl MVP and sure fire first ballet hall of fame selection. Truthfully these two are spitting images of each other with the way they played the game, true steelers true men. Had to go with ward but it was very close.

    Three words: Mel Blount Rule.

I love Hines, but I think Mel Blount would lay Hines ward out.

This was a very tough choice. Tougher than one can imagine. There are 5 (well 4) great names on this list but when you think about how Hines reinvented the position and how he embodies Steelers football you have to go with Hines Ward. I mean the guy used to knock out DBs and LBs. Hines is so Pittsburgh and light on his feet too.
