What will it take for USD/JPY to forge new highs?
The BOJ will need to announce a larger increase to its asset-buying program or revise its inflation target higher.
I think the BOJ just has to deliver the 5 trillion JPY expansion that most investors are expecting to see.
Not much. The BOJ just has to keep jawboning and threaten to ease monetary policy.
There’s nothing the BOJ can do to get the yen to weaken further! It’ll just be wasting its money, time, and efforts.
